Default XM radio question

Does anyone know of a way to install an aftermarket xm receiver so it will display on the stock pioneer deck? It says satelite ready but i heard that u have to buy the scion xm radio or you wont be able to control it on the deck. is this true? is there an adapter out there that can do this? i dont wanna pay $450 for it.

You can get the radio for under $300, but you gotta install it yourself, and it's not trivial.
goto trdsparks.com and look for the XM radio.
In the upper-right corner, you can download the installation PDF - decide for yourself.
Otherwise, the only other option would be to use a portable XM and use the AUX jack - but no HU controls...

Yeah, I'm kicking myself now for not adding it when I bought the tC - I put jsut about every other freakin' thing in there...at the time though, I wasn't sure whether to do XM or Sirius.

I just changed it all out for a deck that could run XM and my iPOD... worked the best for me.

I got everything I need - just have to see if it's worth the hassle to do the XM or Sirius myself to the HU.
Which one did you get?

A Pioneer Premier Mid Range Deck.... Just what I needed to tie me over.... Although I'm going custom CarPC soon.... I like the Pioneer line with the ipod and xm integration, as it's so easy. Just plugs in really.

I love my stocker HU. The iPod is my buddy, and the commuting I do requires it!
PLus, the aux jack is cool if I decide to just get a portable XM or Sirius.
