My little brother is graduating from highschool so I want to get him a cool present. He always talks about doing things to his tc but never does, so I figure why not, maybe i'll spring for a mod. What am I looking at in this range?? I have an audi a4 so I am not familiar with the scion tuning scene at all, or where to look for parts. Does anyone make a cold air intake for the car? Any cool exterior/aero parts under $300? Any cheapo coilovers (I know I could definitely snag lowering springs for around $200, but then again, the question is where?). So go nuts, what would be a cool mod under $300, and where to buy it? Thanks in advance guys.

I just bought the injen CAI and I think it was $230 well spent! The change in sound is incredible (it really roars now) and I know that I would have liked to recieve it as a gift!

If he's into the whole "Fast and the Furious" scene, then get a CAI for his car.

If he's a true carfreak, then he'll definately appreciate the Hotchkis Front and Rear Sway bar set much more!

 

I vote either the Injen or the K&N CAI. Don't go cheap on coilovers, bad idea. There's two guys I know in Cali that sell them, $220 for the Injen.

I would agree if it were legal. A remote start is always nice in the winter time if you live in the North. And if he doesn't have a security system you can get a pretty nice aftermarketing one for a couple hundred bucks.

Well I am kinda into the "it sounds cool" thing. I hear that the CAI's just sound damn cool. I guess you only get a teeny amount of power out of a mod like this, but as long as it sounds cool. To me, the "fart" coffee can muffler does nothing for me, I want to hear the air go in, not out.

I would also go for the sway bars if I knew they offered a noticeable improvement in handeling. DO they? Honestly I have no idea. I am goign to use 'ye ole' searche buttone' and see if anyone has already answered that question.

 

Fork up another 50 bucks and get him a phantomgrip LSD, and have em work in the summer to get the thing installed in his tranny

The sways make a difference. Night and day. I have Hotchkis front and TRD rear.

I'd go for the Hotchkiss sways. It'll make the car feel aggressive on the turns He'll notice the difference in body roll immediately!
