So I finally had a day off and took the 09 into the Toyota dealership to have the sunroof rattle addressed, as well as the drivers seat that pops whenever weight shifts front to back.
Couple hours later the shuttle picked me up and they told me its going to be about $3500 in parts or parts/labor (not sure) to fix it. Well, I only have 17k mi so the warranty covers it. Cool with me.
Sunroof:
They said the "sunroof housing assembly" would have to be replaced. The original problem was rattling when it was just popped up. Not as much when the glass was slid back.
Seat:
There was confusion at first but I later found out the seat and seat rail were going to be replaced. Works for me!
They said bring it in early Monday. Will take all day.

Since we are on the topic of warranty. Mine is up but my transmission intake bracket broke! That should be a powertrain thing right? I mean even if not under warranty thats crap that that would break!
Yes, dont expect anything to fix the rattles. I know a few people in my area that had both their roofs and hatches replaced to stop the rattles, and I kid you not, as they drove off the lot that crap rattled like a **** again....lol

Got the car back today. Brought it in at 7 got it back at 330.
First off, the seat. They installed a whole new drivers seat and everything that goes with it. No more popping. Maybe its just me, but it seems like the seat sits slightly higher. Its at the lowest setting but maybe its the wear/cushion factor.
Now, for what everybodys waiting to hear about. The rattles.
From what I understand from the "Master Tech", everything having to do with the sunroof assembly except the sliding glass was replaced. And you can tell!! Its all shiny and I could even see the new lubricant drops on the rails. The rattle is gone. There is still a creak on harsh bumps and when the chassis flexes over diagonal surfaces (steep driveway ramp hit at angle, etc) but overall the car feels SO MUCH TIGHTER and quieter. Very large difference. I'm a happy camper, with just 1 exception...

This gap between the drivers A-Pillar and the headliner. I didnt want to seem like too much of an ___ so I'll bring it back next week and have them fix it. Tech said "Oh, its suppose to be that way." No, idiot, its not.
So, if you have the sunroof rattle and you're still in warranty, TAKE IT TO THE DEALER! Its a much more pleasurable car to drive now.
