The new Civics have one of the worst dashboard designs I've ever seen. It looks so poorly designed. I would kill myself if I had to stare at that Teletubby house of a speedometer everyday. The only things the Civic SI has that I wish we had in our tC's is a six-speed and LSD.

Unfortunately, it will probably be too much for a lot of people.

I really want a fun car BEFORE I have my midlife crisis. My dad had Novas and Corvettes in his 20s, I plan on doing similar with some fun imports instead.

The tC does hold its value pretty well.
However I think if I trade it will be in November because then I will have atleast had it a year and I can save money for a downpayment and such.
Hmm.

no i wouldnt. I love the tC look and the swapped out interior. Yah, i might be a street racer sometimes, but not really crazy about speed tho. Just look for the older civics lol .. 160 is fast enough for me now. Finish up my degree, get a decent job and I'll be looking at something else. Will you pay off the new Si or do montly ? Insurance,, misc. bills can add up pretty quick.

* If u decide to trade, gl my friend ......

well, I will honestly say I didnt do research on the trade in values of other cars, just a 06 5 speed tC w/ 15000 miles in good conditions, kbb says ~$14,700. And lets say the owner bought the car in March 2006 for ~$18K. The likelyhood of getting that deal seems rare.

im a dealer, and im tellin you they hold their value very well. keep in mind kbb is only doing the base model, no accessories.

but none the less, practically anything toyota (their are a few exceptions) hold their value very well

Yeah, I noticed KBB didnt allow input of some of the extras. But here in NY a tC, I would think, leaves the dealer at around ~$18K without any accessories added. I have never brought in a car for a trade in and am not too familiar w/ the process, so if the numbers are as is and is considered holding a good value then I learned. Thanks!

Don't trade. That would be a terrible idea. Just drive it until you need to buy a new car. Trading it in now would be similar to burning money. The Si is a nice car, but you already have an essentially brand new car that is now worth thousands of dollars less than you paid for it. Not to mention the Si is thousands more expensive to buy and also more expensive to own. Considering insurance will be higher because it's considered a sports car or something ridiculous like that, and considering the premium gas you'd have to feed it at a soon-to-be whopping $3.00 a gallon.

The tC is better looking in my opinion, and the si is not that much quicker. So, all in all, NOT WORTH IT is my final answer.

well basically we sell used tC's for about 1k less then a new.. so that shows value. as for trade in value, it can be around 14k, so your not far off. but you gotta think of the cars value, not the OTR price u paied (t&t). so your losing 3k after a year or so with 15k miles. thats not too bad
