Default *distressed tC owner* what to do?

Okay, so I've been EXTREMELY patient with Scion and I love my car, I really do, but I think today takes the cake for me, and I sent a wonderful letter to Scion.

So about a week ago I noticed long abbrassions ont he black trim inside on front windshield, and I took it to the dealership, they said sure we'll replace it, its under warranty. They do so, I point out that same day I notice more air nosie ont he driver side, they say; its probably nothing, just being overly worried.

Thatw as yesterday. Today Iw ash my car, and I get in, I notice moisture ont he windshield, so I pop off the A pillar.

My lap is instantly soaked, as well as my seat, and the floor board, oh about 2 cups of water maybe more.

Add this problem to: the unfixable hatch rattle (been in 4 times), my AC still not blowing cold after TSB, my sunroof flexxing and popping on inclines and bumps, to which Scion says sorry, we can't help you (it was in for that 3-4 times). Scratched quarter panels, a scratched Windshield, filings from the spoiler install not cleane dout so they rattled aroudn int he hatch, and rattling vents and a center console.

Whats the chances of Scion doing anything for me? First time buying a new car and its been in the shop almost every other month since 3 months into owning it. If not every month.

I'm tired of it, two part tiem jobs and full tiem college student, I don't have the time nor the energy to spend in this stuff. Getting rides to work and school whiel the car is in the shop is not easy either.

That new civic is looking awefully good right now, or anything, compared to what I got..

It's still under a factory warrenty so you can take it to any dealership - why not try a different dealership, sounds like a bunch of ***** at the one you're going to...

Come on, they can't fix a hatch rattle? It involves friggen foam tape, how stupid can they be?

Sorry about all your problems, could be worse, you could have been rear ended and sideswiped like I was the other day:

Yikes, sorry to hear about you'r accident.

The dealership is actually really cool, I know the guy they've been working hard on this thing. I just think I got a bad tC, three friends own them, none of them have experienced any of the problems I got.

I talked to Scion Customer Relations and they suggested filing Arbitration, which I think I will do. new vehicle or cash back is the option. I just hate teh fatc i put a lot of hard work in the stereo in this car, but hey if it is replaced with cash and not another tC, I got a intake, and LED tail lights and a strut bar up for grabs ;)

I just hate having to go thru soemthign every month with this car.

I feel your pain. My hatch rattles like crazy. I have brought it in twice and they have never figured out how to fix it. Now, my sunroof whistles while driving on the highway. Its loud and so annoying. Also, whenever I try to close the sunroof, I have to reach out the drivers side window and hold down the wind deflector. If I don't, the roof won't close. I brought it into the dealership for that issue last week, the service dept said they didn't know how to fix it and that I should contact their body shop to investigate it. So I call the body shop and they are booked until mid-December! I am going to call a different dealership tomorrow. I'm getting so sick of it. Driving my car is causing me too much stress.

When does the MazdaSpeed 3 come out........

Car isn't lowered yet, and probably will never be. I didn't expect a lexus, but i didn't expect it to make loud rattles one very bump, big or small. I didn't expect to hear a loud "pop" everytime I pull up a drive way, and then be told by regional to deal with it. I also didn't expect the glass to be scratched byt he factory and then get a bad replacement to which, I ended up soaked inside my own car. I've had every problem the TSB's have been released ro, and noen of the TSB's fixed any of them.

Road noise doesn't bother me, a stereo solves that problem.

However, I didn't expect all thsi from a brand new car.

damn welcome to the party .I recently sent a letter to scion concering the issues I have had with my vehicle since I purchased it (6500 miles later) . Sorry but I think Toyota really cut the corners on quality for the tC , which is a shame cuz it would be a really REALLY nice car if it was better built

i guess its just the luck of the draw?

Dont bother writing to scion. I just got off the phone with a scion specialist. She told me the most they can do is send out a field technician. Which they already did for me. The field technician bascially told me the rattles are normal for this car and to just deal with it. Keep bringing it in, and keep all service invoices, then call 1-800-LEMONLAW. Or check out www.lemonlaw.com If you are in one of there covered states, then file a suit. Its completely free, and they do all the work for you. If you arent in one of their states, then search around for a similar law firm in your area.

Enough of this bullsh*&^t already. The tC is a piece of poop.

well, dealership installed weatherstrip wrong, which is why you got the water in. It is not an Scion's fault...

can you actually lemon an car because of rattles? If that was the case, 95% of new cars would be lemon these days...

I dunno where you get your facts from, but most new cars I come across dont rattle. I typically hear rattles in older cars, which is understandable.

Well after Scion regional contacted me they said file arbitration with Scion in hopes ot eithe rget a new tC or the loan amount back..

They basically said to present all my dealership documents, to which I have 4 in regards to the roof problems, and 5 for the hatch, and an assortment of others for the glass.

Funny thing is, the lady said I could file arbitration when my regional told me my body flexxing that caused the roof to pop, wa sunfixable, qualified for arbitration claim. No one told me this at that time. huh...

anyways, has anyone done htis before? If so anything i need to watch out for? Wish me luck ....!

Almost to 30,000 miles and no real problems. And it's lowered. Note headlines like this attract other distressed tC owners. Naturally in this thread tCs don't sound so good...

To LeoLeonardo - man that sucks. I hope that something happens for you. Doused by the a-pillar?? There would be no rest until my stuff was taken care of. Got my fingers crossed for ya.

So Leo... how much you want for that intake/strut bar/LEDs? If you are serious about selling them PM me.

Arbitration stuff was recieved today, it should be settled in a month, if I win, i'm stripping all add-ons and selling, PM me and you'll be on first served list. today i just found out they tried to reseal my trim aroudn the windshield and it leaked AGAIN. and they think tis because the body is flexxing and the seal isnt given achance to adhere or just plain... can't.

Don't be nervous Winspan TT, it seems this is pretty isolated, I know three friends with tC's all of which ahve behaved just fine.

My little bugger, on the otherhand.. well.. if all goes well I'm either gonna have a Toyota Tacoma X-Runner or a 2005 WRX I love my tC but meh, I'm just getting burned a bit too much.

Default going ape sh*t over the rattles

got the RS 1.0 in May. exactly one month later, the hatch rattle kicked in. about another month later, some other creaking/rattling sound distinctly different from the hatch rattle joined in on the fun (located somewhere in the mid to rear headlining i think). and now, i'm hearing the driver side door rattle (albeit faint at the moment). i'm friggin' ____ed at toyota. they're not known for this type of inattention to quality. and then to let us all languish here with an unfixable hatch rattle! HOW THE HELL CAN THIS NOT BE FIXED????? HOW CAN IT NOT BE INDENTIFIED??? we can land on mars but this can't be fixed?!?!? It makes me ape ____ just thinkin about it.
