I know this is an old one but I had the hatch rattle before and it was real easy to fix. Just some of the plastic trim came loose. This was early in the summer and it never came back. So a few weeks ago I hear a rattle again from the same area. Right rear of the car. It was pretty quiet so I checked the trim again and it was still fine. Everything looked normal but it kept getting louder over the next week or so. The rubber exhaust hanger on that side was torn and the muffler was hitting the bottom of the car. It looked normal still but moved all over easily which it why I didnt see it before it actually tore. Anyone else have this happen?

I have had the hatch rattle for a while now. We recently had a heavy snow and the bottom of the car was full of snow and slush. The rattle disappeared. When it melted, the rattle came back. My rattle is not coming from the hatch. it is coming from the muffler. The whole muffler and pipe assembly is very loose. This is what is rattling!!!!!

I absolutely agree with you on the muffler thing...One day I was closing the door and noticed a noise comming from under the car. If I hold my door handle open, and open and close the door without letting it latch, you can hear something from under the car...try it

I'm having a rattle sound from my right rear seat area... in the molding where the seatbelt retracts into. It is a slight resonance buzzing.... like a plastic against plastic tapping sound. It is pretty much noticeable on all types of road surfaces, and it is constant. It's quite a distraction to the ears, especially on a brand new car. It can be pretty frustrating when you hear it almost constantly.

Has anybody experienced this same issue?

I'm pretty sure it is coming from the molding housing the rear seatbelt retractor. I can reproduce it by hitting the molding.... almost like something is dangling in the area.

Thanks.

I just hit about 350 miles on my tC and noticed a slight *tk *tk *tk rattle coming from the rear passenger area. It's very slight and almost like a ping. The thing is, I doubt I would've EVER noticed it or cared if I hadn't been reading all this, haha. The rattle and sound coming from my bookbag on the passenger seat is louder, and if I don't think about it, the radio is more than enough to make me not notice.

If you guys could send me the video of your rattle, too, I'd appreciate it. I jsut want to see if it's the same thing. Mine seems to be coming from either the C-pillar or the glass window next tot he c-pillar. If the file is small enough, I can host it on my server. The email is AznChwMein@aol.com

Thanx
