In october it will be a year since i have bought my 06 tc, before i used to drive a manual altima which was so much fun. now the automatic sucks.
i have 12000 miles on my car and i am sick of the automatic. does any body know if i can trade it in, swap the automatic trans or anything. please help me if you can.

Trade in is your best bet most likely, unless you have a shop and can swap it all yourself.. and even then the parts will get up there. You could try selling to a private party and maybe getting more out of it, then buying a new one.

Tranny work can get expensive. Sell 3rd party, and buy a new one with a hefty down payment.

Why did you even get an automatic if you wanted a 5speed?? In any event. Trade it in. Unless you're knowledgable about it. Because shops will charge you up the ___ with stuff u don't know. Good luck

 

Anybody ever want to upgrade their 5speed manual to a 6speed?... or am I the only one wondering, "where's 6th gear" when I'm at 90mph

 

 

90??? i'm still in 4th till about 100 then finally moving on to 5th no need for a 6th until about 115 to 120

 

ALL the time. it would also save a TON of gas.

 

Also agreed! I hate it when I'm crusing between 85-90 and I instinctively want to shift in to another gear because of the rev's!

If a Sentra can get a 6 speed so should our tC's!
