Last week..i went to Longo Toyota, and ask them for a tc~ they said they don't have it but they can put me on the waiting list with deposit~ i'm like GrEaaat...i need a car..like right away~ and there are like wut...60 ppl on the waiting list? wtf~ haha..so i started looking for other places~ This week..starting TUESDAY..i started calling every single scions i could find in LA..and NONE of them have it! (that's like 29 dealers!) so i started looking around LA...and that'll be another 10 more~ so in TOTAL..i called 39 dealers and only 2 of them have my second choice..a black tc automatic~ (my first choice is a white one)~ so..i on WED. morning..2 sales called me saying they have a black scion auto~ one in Norwalk Scion and one in Scion of Orange~ around 3' pm ..my uncle finally picked me up and took me to Norwalk~ but when i got there...they said it's SOLD!! i was sooooo ____ed off!! Immediatly i called the scion of orange which is Tustin to ask if that TC is still there~ It's there...and we totally speed over! thank GOD it's still there! thank god i got my TC~ i'm SOOO happy! ohmygod..i thought i really had to wait for like monthz for my car!

 

Congrats on car. Hard to believe the tC is still flying under the radar in terms of recognition. Not many cars out there where there is a wait. I know when I was looking at the Mazda 3, I could have had one (one with my options, etc.) within ONE week.

i still get asked a lot of questions from people. like what car is that? who makes it? how does it ride? is it fast? doh, these questions are starting to get annoying.

 

Yeah, I'm actually kinda curious what Scion of Orange stuck into the car. Back when I was searching (early July) Norwalk told me they were not going to sell any base models, only cars with leather, wheels, etc. Orange tried to sell me a 23k Azure Pearl. Granted, it's been about 3 months so things could have changed. IE One scion dealer I talked to; told me that they get memo's from Scion Headquarters telling them to stop turning these 16k cars into 20k+ cars just because they're hot.

Anyhow, what was your out the door price and what nice little additions did Orange tag on?

 

when i was at orange, they tried to sell me a 22k flint with gaudy wheels and stupid options.

hmm, were those items actually on the sticker or were they added onto the stick by way of a skinny slip of paper with the base price adjusted with all the options? Did you also have leather?

I was asking all this because I was curious if these dealerships (Orange, Norwalk, etc) are selling these things bone stock, or if they were getting them bone stock and adding stuff on. (most people on the waiting list have a specific number of options or no options wanted for their car, and are unwilling to settle of anything - which results in those who don't care about shelling out more dough the better chances of dropping into a dealership and grabbing a car that's been passed on by the waiting list folks)

But congrats none the less. Go to the scion meets (check out the https://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=22 threads for more info..) It'd be nice to have more tC's than boxes at these meets... (I can dream, can't I?)

There's someone in my condo complex that just got a Indigo ink tC, auto from Puente Hills. From the looks of the car, it looks bone stock, but I havent had the chance to talk to the guy or ask him how long he waited and stuff.

Got mine at Glendale pretty fast. Got it July 31 Even though i didn't go to that dealer first, it was the first to actually get me what i wanted.
