Default 05 Issues with engine Knocking?

I tried to do a search and couldn't come up with anything...
I drive an 05 Tc Manual...
When I'm idle i feel the engine knocking at times.
today it was really noticable...
And no, i'm not running low on fuel. I actually had a tank that was 3/4 full..

Anyone else having these issues?
Perhaps something covered in the TSB?

You actually FEEL the engine knocking? like you feel it with your feet when they are on the floor or on the pedals or you just hearing it knocking? what happens when you accelerate? does the engine surge or does the "knocking" get louder? need to know these before we can trouble shoot... also has your check engine light come on?

you said that it happens at a light...

every once in a while my engine will drop to a very low rpm when sitting at a light (like 500 rpm). the engine doesnt like to turn that slowly and as a side effect it starts to shake and knock the car around. maybe this is your problem?

mummm... that's strange, I have a 05 tC also but I never have that problem. My engine never drop rpm to 500 when it was idle.

when your RPM's drop at idle down to around 500 RPM that happens when your engine has a load on it, like your electric fan coming on and your alternator working a little harder to make up for the lost voltage and current being used, thats just one example though...was your air conditioning on?? Now you will feel a shudder since your crankshaft is spinning slower and the weight of it will cause a slight vibration but it will not create a knocking sound and you shouldnt feel it. Also yes giving it a little gas will clear it up since you are making the crankshaft spin faster. BUT if you are feeling a knock and i mean feeling it not just hearing it you need to have that checked out that is not normal at all, especially on a car with less then probally 30,000 miles.

Go and get it checked ASAP, this is not normal. Buy or borrow a OBDII scanner from local parts store, Here we have AUTOZONE and they let you borrow it for free.

I get a knocking noise...like a tick or something. But only when I'm accelerating (its coming from the passenger side of the engine bay). Happens about 3500-4000 RPM's. Anyone else having this problem, is it normal??? Figured I'd ask since where on the subject of knocking. Any input would be great.

FYI: I have no engine mods, just a bolt on muffler.

BTW: With your knocking noise, I'd have that checked out ASAP. definitley not normal. Hope you still have warrenty coverage.

the defroster isnt going to cause the A/C to come on... it's only electrical wiring anyways.
