Default 07 tc totaled..pics and story..

i figure thats enough pictures to show the damage. its been totaled for a little over a month. i just finally made a photobucket account so i could do this though. it was on January 20th. i lost control on black ice..going a little faster than i should have been for a back road. i was only about 5 minutes from my house. and kind of in a hurry to get there. i was going about 60 mph. which..the speed limit on the road is 55. but it does show to slow down for the upcoming corners. and i didnt. as i usually didnt, because they werent that serious. but it didnt seem cold enough to have to worry much about ice. i was wrong. my fault. nobody else's.

so..the road turns to the left..and then goes down hill. and then to the right. none of the turns should really be considered "corners" as they arent that sharp. but on the back side of that hill..it was all ice. and the rear end slid out. i hit a tree with the driver side front (fender)..as you can see from the one pic..its smashed in where the car hit the tree. right at the driver side wheel. this brought the car into the air..and it came down on the driver side on the road. overturned onto its back..and slid upside down. both my passenger (a good friend of mine) and i were alright. nothing serious. we spent the night in the hospital. for minor injuries..and to be "observed."

the 07 tC is now replaced with an 05. flint mica. i took pictures of it today. but i only had my cell phone with me to take pictures. and it wasnt a very nice day out. so they came out horrible. will post pics up when i take them.[img][/img]

Ouch dude... That really sucks. Hopefully you learn your lesson and take it easy with the '05. Dont know if you can, but take as much good stuff off of the totaled car as you can.

oh definitely man. still kind of nervous behind the wheel. something like that will rattle ya pretty good. but was definitely a lesson learned, and put under the belt. haha. just one of those cases where i drove that road the same every day. like i said i was only 5 minutes from home. but..it only takes one time. and one second for something like that to happen. the 05 i have now will definitely be a little more "cherished" haha.

unfortunately i didnt get much from the car. i took my floormats that i ordered from scion out. and everything that i could grab. but Progressive was pretty set on hauling the car away pretty fast. i called them today to see if i could buy the car back cheap..but i didnt get ahold of them. and they should call back tomorrow. i would LOVE to have the motor out of it, being that i only had 4800 miles on it.

draxcaliber - as far as you saying the 05 is an upgrade. i do believe your right. im not sure what it is about it, but i seem to like this one much more. haha.

hayuracing - ya say bad day at the carwash. funny thing about that is..i washed the car an hour before i wrecked it. and the first thing i said to the guy when i was climbing out my window was.."i just paid 10 dollars to wash this damn thing tonight" (trust me..i was in a bit of shock) i had no idea what i was talking about. haha.

yes, there are alot of 07's getting totaled. this i found surprising too. maybe they are bad luck? haha. i dont know.

as far as ya saying i need to change my signature..ive been trying. i want to change my password to. but i cant figure out how. i did it before. i thought last time i just clicked "profile" at the top..but anytime i do that now, it logs me out. so..if someone could steer me in the way of doing that..thatd be great.

and yes..my 05 is FM. i like it much better than i did the nautical blue.

yeah, the only thing about the 05's that i hate is no steering wheel audio controls, and the button pressing intensive stock radio, but once i do my system, that won't matter anyway. if it has side-airbags, make sure to get the recall work done.

Hehe, yeah. My '07 BSP had some damage done from a big piece of metal travleing on the freeway. The way up I saw a couch on the road and moved out of the way of that. Early message?!

Oh well.. I love my car and cant wait to get it back from the shop.

yes, that was one thing i liked about my 07 was the steering wheel buttons to play with the radio. i HATE pushing the buttons on the 05's radio. but, it was an upgrade for me anyways, being that this one has the 6 disc changer, and the sub in the hatch. it does had side air bags (which my 07 didnt). what work do they have to do for the recall? is it that they go off when they arent supposed to? i think i read something about that on here awhile back ago.

yes, if they haven't done it yet, you get a free gift since you have to take it in for it!

anybody know why when i click profile it just signs me out? instead of letting me change my signature..and password?

ok, got everything i needed changed. i did a search and saw that a couple other people had a problem with it. it was the cookies on my browser..in case anyone else has the problem.

and yes, i was half scared to buy another tc. and almost didnt. but i loved my 07. and i knew had i bought something else i would regret it. hopefully ill be able to get it lowered soon, but since the accident, money has been kind of tight. i have the trd exhaust. thats all so far.
