127mph
I'd only do 100+ if I were in the middle of nowhere or on a good european road, provided i had the proper vehicle. I cant see my xB doing more than 85 ever. I drove a 911 turbo for a while and I think i got my speed satisfaction taken care of; there are toooo many idiots driving anymore to risk high speeds. 45000 people die every year in the US because of car crashes, and I think about 60% of those are speed related(intoxication, drug influence etc)- I dont want to be in that statistic.
I've gotten my Camaro up to about 165-170 (hard to tell, the gauge cluster reads to 155 but continues in black after that).
Anyways, there really is no point to going that fast, I was only testing it (on the freeway, in the middle of the night with noone around) so I could see what the top speed was with all the work I had done to it.
But speed isn't the main factor in car crashes, speed differentiation is. When traffic is moving at 55mph in a 40mph zone, the person going 40 is the danger. Arizona is in the middle of raising the speed limits across the state to speeds most motorists are currently going.

there really isn't much room to go faster on the rpms. i have said it befor and I will say it again, if you want to go that fast, buy a faster car. The fact is you would need somewhere around 300hp to get even close to 150mph.
anyway, I guess none of this answered you question. I believe it would require some ECU work and a few engine upgrades.
Well a possible way to raise the max speed would be to change the final drive ratio in the differential by either upgrading to a LSD or change with some other toyota like maybe a solora (im pretty sure they had the 2az-fe and i bet it was the same manual tranny with a different final drive ratio). im sure this would allow you to hit higher speeds but at the cost of acceleration. anyways ecu change many not be the only option.
why do a lot of you feel impelled to mother us and say not to drive fast, dont go over a hundred or were retarded, we make the racing sceene look bad? when I am flying (158 in a firehawk, 161 in a tsi awd talon, 131 in the tc, etc.) its like 3am on the beltway with virtually no traffic. not every day or even every month, not everybody is modding for the race track. I personaly never go to the track, putting your car through those conditions run after run is bad for your car, especially if its your every day driver.
On Saturday I took a 250 mile trip... I finally had the chance to take it as high as I can... I went 119 mph... felt pretty good.. but I doubt I will ever try to get it that high again. its not good for the car. Just felt good!

And from above, no, you dont need near 300 HP to reach 150 mph. It is dependent on vehicle weight, the drag coefficient, the gearing of the transmission AND the HP.
Buy the Apexi RSM if you really want to ditch the speed limiter. It has a voltage clamp for speed limiter removal. Your ECU and stock speedo will show that your going whatever speed you clamp it to (IE 125mph) but the Apexi RSM will still show the additional speed.
I do not suggest testing this unit out unless you're on a high speed closed circuit with proper safety measures taken. I know how to do it because we plan on maxing on the tC once it's built with the turbo and for road racing.

I reached about 120/1 in the TC. Then slowed down to about 100 and a cop got me. Said he clocked me at 104 in a 70. Suprised he wasn't a dick about it, and just gave me a ticket and went on his way.

And there is a good reason to raise the speed and rev limiter. If you build up the engine to rev higher you are going to want it to rev! If someone swaps some taller gears they are going to want to let the car go faster.
On a decent road track you can get up to speeds over 140-150 with a decent car. Our local track the TC would definately be hitting off the top of the revs on the straight away as long as you hit the entering corner correctly.
My tC "purrs" between 80-85 mph. I've topped out at 97 mph on "The Grapvine" here in Cali. (Downhill) It was when my tC was fairly new and I didn't even know I was going that fast! I now try not to go faster than 85 mph.

Are you my twin? I have a BCP tC, a 91 TSi AWD and I am in the process of buying a '02 Firehawk. My tC only went 129, the talon is gutted and I need to get a speedo, the Firehawk has 385 RWHP so I guess I'll see...
