Default 1500 miles and already vandalized...

Last night someone decided the rear SCION emblem looked pretty cool so they dug their key in and stole it. Chewed the paint up around the emblem and left all the glue stuff on there.... I'm so mad... this is my first car that I personally bought myself and financed and my first NEW car as well... 1500 miles and some worthless miscreant has to mess up what I paid my hard earned money for....

yeah just sucks becuase they took like chunks out of the paint.... if they just took the emblem no big deal but now i have deep chunks of my paint missing there and it's going to look like crap if I just stick another emblem on it...

that sucks, maybe you can cover it a bit with touch up paint. apply it in layers and it might work, depending oh how big you chips are tho.

ive got 1300 miles... scratch on the drivers side door from someone leaning on it checking it out... a door scuff on the passenger side

and just today i curb rashed the front passenger side

what you should do is invest in the carbon fiber rear hatch

Thats exactly it, it's a $500 deductible... it's doubtful it would cost more than $500 if I decided to have the whole rear hatch repainted....

EXACTLY!!!! i dont get it... i mean are people that insecure about themselves that they see something nice and have to mess with it? its almost like people intentionally open their doors into yours... or drag up against it... and then the puss bastards that go out of their way to damage the car...

you just never touch another mans car :/ steal his g/f... shes replacible... and more than likely a dirtbag anyways... youd do the guy a favor... but you dont mess with his car....

Looks like its time to debadge the Scion logo from the rear of my hatch before some ahole decides he wants to wear it as a necklace. I have already debadged the xB part, oh well. Sorry to hear about your car though. I agree, fill it in and have it painted so you can remain badgeless.

Sorry to hear about the damage, monSSter-tC.
You made it more than a thousand miles than I did before being vandalized, though - $1800 worth.
First car I'd ever had vandalized - in over 40 years of driving and owning 28 cars.
I do NOT understand people like that - and don't want to. Pity it's not a capital crime...

PHEW, im glad I just peeled off the TC logo then. hehe
Your insurance can not legally go up for putting in a single claim for vandalism.

what would be the point of the" spreading the risk across a large pool" theory of insurance then if you just get stuck for the true cost of the claim.

errrrrr, and what kind of ____head steals a 15 dollar emblem??
thats just sad

I haven't been on the road that long, but this is also the first time I've ever had any of my vehicles vandalized and I have a pretty high profile Camaro ('00 SS with black stripes and big chrome wheels) and everyone leaves that alone... I don't get it.

What happened to yours?

There's a write-up here somewhere, but to make it a short story someone tossed 4 chunks of concrete over a 9 foot tall cyclone fence onto the hood and windshield while it was parked in my carport. Broke the windshield, bent up the hood, and scarred up the horizontal ledge of the front bumper.
I hadn't put 500 miles on it yet.
