this is my first attempt at doing a HDR photo

thats pretty sweet...its different than other hdr's...did you only use the lighter image on the headlight?....

oh right, regarding the pic, it's kinda cool~! it kinda reminds me of oldschool knightrider or something.. the deviantart member (attila)'s comments are pretty on point, keep experimenting!
i think you missaligned them. my camera has a setting for hdr. you need to use a tripod and a timer so that the camera is exactly aligned for the shot. they're difficult to do but if done right are freaking awesome. good try though i'm sure you'll master it.

You can also photoshop the HDR effect. Its very tough to get the perfect HDR look you want with just straight shooting. And not everyone can afford a camera like the Hasselblad H2 or H3 (the H3DII costs upwards of $30,000 btw). You can use certain methods and techniques to retouch high quality photographs to look the way you want it to.
