So what's the difference between the '05 and so-called new '06 mats? McGeorge, online, claims they have a driver's heel pad. Are these the accessory mats or the standard mats? If they're standard, I have no need to bother...

I saw a pic of them from some body's 06 and when mine get used up i'll deff buy some because it has a rectangular (non-carpet) piece where your heels/feet are and that will prevent it from a lot of wear and tear...

Also, I do believe they are the standard ones with the 06

There are no "standard mats" ... these are the official Scion floormats. The one and only. The newer version has that extra pad where the heels rest.

 

they became available well before the the "06". they were the $145.00 scion mats beginning in april/may. they are on the 06 but were sold on later 05s as well. there is a rubber heel pad where there older mats were wearing. most scion dealers have been upgrading to them for customers who show wear on the older version under warranty.

If you bought your mats with your car, i.e. on the sticker, you can get the new ones under warranty. I recently took mine in and they gave me a whole new set

I am not going to put the new ones in until I wear the driver side all the way through.

 

I was wondering when they would upgrade these... too many issues with them wearing out early.
