2008 260hp Cobalt SS
its not bad, they just dropped the s/c and threw on a turbo. 2.0l ecotech is a pretty good engine to and its built to handle abuse. Only issues are other areas of the car, my sis has a cobalt and stuff that you shouldnt have probs with she does, like here door pull cups in the door all the factory silver paint chipped/cracked off. Thats some ____..but her front bumper has better paint then my tc, way less rock chips then mine and i actually take care of my car and im careful of my following distance,,so go figure.
I like the MS3 as well but the new cobalt SS turbo is faster and out handles the MS3 as well as anything in its class. Too bad it looks so ugly.....but its a good car for the $$$

well, what do you expect? chevy and dodge can't compete with toyota and honda and such in terms of reliability, build quality, resale value, handling and fahrvergnügen, so they just horseshoe in as much power as they can to get people to buy them.
It has the same engine as the redline sky and gxp solstice. 2.0 Ecotec LNF i believe. Also set the record for the fastest FWD pass on the Nurburgring in 8:22.85.
Seems like the only real good upgrades/mods for the cobalts though are made by gm, aside from that aftermarket is limited. I used to have a cobalt and the choice arent nearly as great as they are for the TC, nor are the prices.

260 crank = approx 226whp. Upgrades will be available of course and it will already have decent internals so it is a good deal. However it is a chevy and will retail value like a doller bill in acid. Definitly a price choice over an SI weather it's value over time sucks or not. Great tuner car.
They do lose value fast, mine was worth about half of what i paid for it in about 2.5 yrs.
I hope the put more to the ground than 225ish. I knew people when I had mine that put 215-220 to the ground with the stock ss supercharged. The car was underrated at 205.
Would have been better with the RWD that matches the sky and solstice though.

I test drove a SS superchaged and well I felt like I was driving my gilrfriends Ion redline. Go figure right. Not to mention that American made will never eqaul toyota, no matter what the new FORD commercial say. Point is they are ok but not that great I much perfer my TC even if the cobalt SS can smoke me (so can my girlfriends redline
)
I have to agree with the looks of the cobalt...the bumper lines suck! Its ugly..i test drove one and was looking to buy before i foundmy Tc and then the cobalt was quickly put aside even though it was the ss supercharged and my Tc is just na. Just the differance in the way the door shuts is night and day the tc was way more solid..the cobalt had a hollow feel.
