Yeah. Where the new SS may be able to past you super fast in a straight like you'll just make up for for the week it spends in the shop for a bent valve or something. I just picked up my buddies Ram 1500 with the all powerful HEMMAH! and they had to replace the whole top half of his engine (under warranty) He however never even came close driving that truck as hard as it should be able to get handled and is already having engine problems. Sure lifetime powertrain warranty but it'll be in there for a week every 35-40k miles.

I tend to agree with most of the posts. I know that Chevy makes some poor quality and less-attractive cars. However, I cannot say that the TC is without its flaws.

I have had a few problems, lots of rattle and the bazooka sub that I paid 400 for is a piece of Sh!+.

The way I figure is to get the SS with a sunroof will run about 24k. But to get a TC up to 260 hp, with 18" wheels, brembo brakes, spoiler, ect, will be of comparable cost. Further, this stuff will all be under a warranty.

I have a friend who works for GM and I am hoping (if I decide to get one) that I can get a 2 or 3k break on the retail. All in all, then it may not be such a bad deal.

I do have a great deal of hesitation getting into a new model. I waited a year before getting a TC. I guess, I would have to see one up close and test drive before jumping to any conclusions.

If any gets one or sees one, let me know.

The cobalts turbo motor has been out for a long long time, they just decided to drop it into the cobalt and the supercharged version was so dissapointing. It is a good motor.

If you're going to build up the car enough to stress out the suspension, you better not be running stock suspension. No matter what car you're driving.

Yeah i agree but come on no IRS? Thats some ____ for a car that makes 260hp. The caliber srt4 is the same way its suspension sucks for the power it has and same with the srt4 neon..thats why so many people wreck em. Everyone i know who owned the srt4 neon wrecked theres..its fast in a straight line then try to get it to turn.

They wreck them because they drive like retards. They have the mentality that the car can handle anything because it is fast.

i'd get a MS3 if i wanted to change cars and upgrade my speed

Especially if you're running a suspension setup similar to what Fred Flintstone had!

Still rather the Speed3. Better build quality than GM and the interior isn't absolutely horrific. Also the aesthetics and practicality of the ms3 are far superior.

I dont claim to be an expert, by my searching seems to disagree with the "terrible handling" claims. Now, I wont disagree with anyone who thinks it looks like crap (style is a matter of taste). But, the car seems to have performed increadibly well (class leading) at some track with a german name where they test these things.

Im still indifferent, but some of the criticism seemed a little off. I really hope that my buddy can pull through with a GM discount. I guess I will have to test drive one.

Honest question (if I do decide to sell). How much is a near mint condition 2006 Tc with 16k miles on it with the spoiler, fogs, sub, exhaust, sills, mats, manual trans really worth in a resale? I drive the thing from home to school all highway.

Blue book is about 14-16k. More than that Chevy will be worth after it's driven off the lot. Discount or not, buying American cars new is just stupid.

Some dude around my school has an SS, Sounds like a manual in reverse when he floors it. It's sick. Personally I like the MS3. 22K and 268hp I think? Turbo.
