Default 2010 tc passanger seat question

I own a new 2010 tc and i think she doesn't like me. whenever anyone else drives my car i sit in the passenger seat (obviously) but alot of the time the seat doesnt recognize me and the airbag wont turn on. it does eventually but sometimes 15 minutes into the ride. is there a certain weight u have to be or something? other times it recognizes me right away..any ideas?

yeah its a weight sensor..if you are skinny you are probably borderline having it on/off

and dont let other people drive your car! =p

if i remember correctly if my backpack is heavy enough it will set the seatbelt reminder off but it wont turn the airbag on. Same with my little nephew he weighed like 70-80 lbs and same thing would happen.

well i read through the manual and it didnt give an specific weights that trigger the airbag. It just says "when a smaller adult sits in the front passenger seat, the system may recognize him/her as child depending on size and seating posture."

so maybe the way you sit has an effect.

if it thinks you are a child it will turn of the air bags but will keep the seat belt reminder and the curtain airbags on.

yea there is a weight limit to set it off, and you must be close to it.

just sit up straight and sit in the middle of the seat. lol

tough to say. i think it would help if you posted some pictures to judge wether or not you weigh enough to trigger the sensors. please do not include clothing as the wieght of the clothing can sometimes trigger a false positive.
