so my last tank of gas took me about 287mi (on 13.3 gallons according to the pump) and I knew I gunned the car more than usual. so I decided to experiment, I filled up full and decided to stick to 65mi and not driving like maniac. and sure enough, I'm not even past the R line but 395, i bet i could get 420 easy. but gas prices are just a _____

 

Damn, that's pretty good.. I only get about 300-320 to a tank.. Sometimes not even that.

 

wow... that's not too shabby. i've drive nicely, shifting between 2.5-3k and i hardly ever go WOT, and i too only get 310-320 until the light comes on.
how much more gas do we have in the tank when the light comes on?

 

I was at like 398 or something once before. But that was ALL highway - probably cruising at 70-75+. The MPG was like 29.89 or something stupid like that. I keep telling myself I'm going to be more aware of my speed and not drive like a jerk all the time... it never works.

 

ya, as a note, i drive like 75-80% highway and i believe it's 2-2.5 gal when the light hits. hell i've had almost a gallon left well past the R line

 

Ya, I've had my needle actually touching the light before and it was still just like 13.5 on a refill. I wouldn't ever recommend going that low if you can avoid it. Typically, you should fill up as soon as the light comes on or before. Good for your fuel pump and lines. Just in case any debris settles in the bottom of your tank.

 

oooo gotcha... my highway driving is like <5% per tank

i never go on the highway lol.

I'm getting my i/h/e installed this afternoon, maybe that will help with mileage if i dont get on it... and i've heard a pully swap will net you another mpg or two... and those are sitting in the garage :D we'll see what hapens

 

Actually IHE might decrease your mileage a tiny bit. Not sure though.

 

I usually average around 300 to 310 per tank with my highest ever being around 345. I wouldn't know what to do if I ever got 400.

 

mine is really low only because work is only 4 miles away so the car doesnt like short trips. I normally get 280/12.6 gallons but i only fill up once a week at max but normally 2 times a month, hehe

260-280 isn't too bad.. that's about what I get with hard driving & no highway.

 

Well the total miles can vary b/c it depends on when you fill up... but if you're getting 18 mpg, with almost no city driving and not really any mods to the engine - something sounds wrong to me.

 

something is wrong, thats why im takin it in. i have taken it in before, but lets just say i went to a ____ty dealer, this time im takin it to the best so that they actually perform a service.

 

My driving is about 40% highway and 60% city and I have never gotten less than 300 miles to a tank. And I have an automatic. I usually get around 330 - 340 miles.

 

ill try some additives or something, my car only has 6000 miles...so it cant be sludge, the oil has been changed twice and everything i perfect

 

I pulled over 400 last week, 65-70% highway. Refilled up to 13.5 and averaged my mpg out to 29.98.

I think the new mix gas and better weather might have something to do with it. I drove the exact same amount (distance wise) in December and got 320 maybe.

 

I've gotten 349 on my first tank, and that was all highway driving. I think if i did that again, maybe now i'd get a lil better since the engine is more broken in.
