Over the harshest weeks of the winter, we had alot of snow and ice which necessitated the need, many times, for the ABS system to kick in.
This got me wondering if the ABS system has a general lifespan or not. Like, is it expected to work all the time with no problems or only once or twice a year in an emergency? I guess I'm asking how much use Toyota expects these systems to last.
Mine is fine, I was just curious.

Your ABS should absolutely work for the entire operating life of the car.
If the system is malfunctioning, it will illuminate the "ABS" light on the dashboard, and it will stay on. This is your signal to go to a mechanic, but I would be surprised if that ever happens.
ABS systems have been out a few decades now...the automotive world has had plenty of time to perfect it, and Toyota's the best anyway.
So brake with confidence, as long as you own your car!
