Default Acura RSX Type S or Supercharged/Turbocharged tC

So...

What would you rather get?

The RSX costs more, but includes leather seats, Bose audio, and more horsepower.

The tC however is superior in torque and would match if not have more horsepower after turbocharging/supercharging.

So, can I get some opinions/comments?

i looked at the base RSX, and the TC... i added the round effects, lip soiler, alarm, and i felt the TC was a better Buy... and looked better, TURBO TC ALL THE WAY!

not knocking the rsx, Since it is also a hot hot Car, But i liked the looks to the TC more,

A turbo tC will have more horsepower than a Type-S and the bose audio system on the Type-S doesnt sound as nice as the one in our TC (lack of base).

Bose is garbage. The best thing they've ever done(in the last 15 years) is marketing.

And on that note... I like the interior of the RSX better, however.... i'm loyal to the tC.

I wouldn't go as far as saying "bose is garbage" however the bose system in the Typse-S isn't really that great.

It's supposed to be an unbiased thread... I know it's hard posting at a Scion site and all... but don't just say a car because you have it ;)

And yes, I was disapointed by the Bose radio in the RSX too.

Thanks for the comments

I like the RSX Type S's transmission...so silky smooth. Also, a stock RSX Type S may be more money, but the it'd still be under warranty compared to a turbo/supercharged tC...

Well, the S/C tC will have a warranty.

A super charged tc should be able to beat the rsx-s. Tc would have just as much hp, but more torque. Considering they're pretty close in weight, i think it would be a good race. Maybe the transmissions might make a difference?? 6-sp vs 5-sp.

"a turbo'd tc wouldnt be a match for even a type s"
Are you kidding me ? A tc running at like 4 PSI would already hang with a RSX-S, so a TC running 10+ PSI would embarass an RSX. Now back to thread, RSX-S is a pimp ___ car, definitely go for that if you can afford it. However, if your trying to get a pretty nice car with alot of speed for cheap go for a TC. For about 23,000 bucks you can get a TC with 300+ hp, upgraded flywheel, clutch, larger exhaust, rims, LSD and more. Thats still cheaper than a stock RSX-S. Its all about the money.

No replacement for displacement. One of the biggest factor in why the tC puts more hp to the wheels with the same amount of boost as say a honda civic SI. If you have the cash/time for the hobby of tuning. tC the way to go for the cash.

I haven't purchased my tC yet, but the new '06 type-s seems very, very nice. I like the interior letherette, and the driver oriented controls. In addition, the new type-s will be 215 horses.

I still haven't decided. However, if the 2006 Honda Civic Si comes out with 200 horses, I will have to get the Si. It just looks perfect!

Honda has confirmed that the 06 Civic Si will get 200hp, an LSD and a six-speed. They even said the concept was 90% of what the Si will be when it comes out.

The only thing up in the air is price. But regardless, it will be great competition for the TC.

Are you sure?
Cause i waited 4 years for a acura rsx type s and when time came for me to purchase my car, i was 3 grand short, but for some odd reason CAR god came out and the scion tc came out the day i went car shopping, so i bought the tc 5 speed.

But i still want a type s so bad even with the grindy transmission, which i hear all over clubrsx.com

Also a turbo tc would stomp a type s stock.
No brainer look at zpi's numbers. But if it was a cybernation motorsports stage 1 turbo kit acura rsx type s vs a zpi stage 0 scion tc, the type s would pawn the tc all day long.
