And the agony begins
I just ordered my Flint Mica (Auto) in San Jose, CA and the wait seems to be anything between 8-12 weeks. I ordered stock so the dealer wasn't happy at all. But I have no clue how I am going to wait for 2 months.
Thank you so much to everybody at this forum who helped with my decision of getting a used BMW or a tC. You guys have been really helpful and very detailed in your posts. Thanks a million.
I am keeping my fingers crossed that someone cancells a FM or IIP and I get it.

dam, 2 months is a very long time to wait for a new car. I am so impatient, it would drive me insane. The dealers here told me 1 month. So I called 30 dealers in 3 states for 3 weeks before i found a dealer that had a silver automatic. I drove to MA to get it right away. It had some options which I didnt mind. Can you check more dealers? I would call around some more. Even if you have to drive to get it, its still better than waiting 2 months. Goodluck!
the wait is getting longer and longer as the weeks go on. and the wait for the flint mica, forget it. it is probably double the wait for any other color. but good luck and good choice of a car.
The Prius, lol, my dad waited 6 months for a Prius (Xenons, etc) with the whole package and they lost it at port or whatever, turned it down, and now he got stuck with a bone stock one that they gave him to keep him happy. Waiting made him nuts, lol. My tC I ordered last June (1st) week, and then on the last day of the month, boom, it was there. Now, I just put it out of my mind cuz it seemed pretty new back then, but if this is going to "be the car for you", then it's def worth the wait. Be patient!
i've been told to wait UP TO 12 weeks by my dealer in San Jose for the Scion tC i ordered... i'm just hoping i get lucky and one comes in a little earlier... luckily, i'm in no hurry, but at the same time, i'm itching to get my new tC!
the dealer in Columbia, SC told me after they found one and acquired it in the southeast it could take a week for them to get it to the dealership then 3 weeks to install the parts I wanted. I waited a week to see how long the expected day would take. They ____ed me off, so I called the dealer by my parents in Nashville, TN called Beaman Scion. I got it in one week total time. I called them on tuesday around 6:30PM on the 30 of nov. I had it wed. the 8th. I didn't count tuesday b/c it was so late. They didn't have the car at the dealership either. He told me to give him fifteen minutes and call back. When I called back he said he had one in Knoxville,TN so he sent his truck off that night to get it and bring it back. He didn't charge me for it either, they brought it to me also for a small fee. That week started with the first conversation we had. He fedex me the paperwork and a return envelope. I fedex it back to him the day I got the papers and exactly one week I had my car the way I wanted it. Beaman Scion rocks!!!
I waited 0 days for mine. Just went to the lot and bought it. If it helps with your wait the car isn't all that exciting. The old saying about the anticipation being better than actually getting something is definately true in the case of the Tc. But, you still made a better choice than a used BMW thanks to warranty and maintenance cost issues. Although, if you can afford the cost of ownership picking a late model bimmer over a Tc is a no brainer.
i ordered mine stock with nothing on it in black sand pearl. the dealer told me 2 weeks... i ordered on a thurs and i picked up monday night at 730 =) just took 3 days... i dont know why but i didnt complain...good luck
