Default air conditioner mmm

hey guys let me start off by saying the tc is an awesome car, and since its the first stick shift car i drove it took some getting used to but its fun as hell to drive. i love everything about the car and fortunately for me i dont have any problems with rattles or anything. However there is this one thing which im not complaining about but i find it interesting is that the air conditioner still blows wind when its off. Ive noticed this on my 4runner as well so it seems to be a toyota thing. just wonder if anyone else has this issue?

This has been discussed before. The answer is to select the recirculating button (of course you must first ensure you have selected the OFF button) and viola NO air comes through the vents.....

Yeah I _____ed about this a fwe months back and a few douches thought it was funny that I even asked about it. Make sure to select the recirculate button even when it's off. Obviously that's not the perfect solution but that's apparently how it's designed.

OMG even old cars do this. My 88 maxima does this. I have to put that circulator crap so that no air comes thru. Usualy 2 options. air flowing directly from outside or just air circulating inside. I just hope the heater in the scion TC is good cause imma need it for NJ Winter.

This is normal and it's not just a Toyota thing. My parent's GMC Yukon does it, my old Jeep Grand Cherokee did it, and so did my Chrysler Sebring.

It was never annoying to me, and in fact it was sometimes appreciated as a way to keep a small amount of fresh air coming in. As mentioned, if you don't like it just turn on recirculate.

no one is complaining indigo if you noticed my post, i merely pointed it out as i have noticed it on my other car as well. and i did realize it was air blowing in from outside and didnt even try to press around the buttons to see if that would stop it. like i said its hardly something bothersome.

I thought this kind of things would be explained in the car manual? Well, all the previous cars I've had this explained in the manual...

I am still waiting on my tC so I don't have access to it's manual yet.

Maybe they figured there was a fine line between "tc Owner Manual" and "Cars for Dummys".
