air conditioning
What sucks is that the majority of the people who respond to the A/C threads don't live in the south west, and don't have rediculously hot temps like we do. It was 110 yesterday, going to be 110 today and its humid.
Now, I always vent the car with the windows down after it has been sitting in the sun for a long period of time, but my air doesn't seem cool, not even when you pur your hand right next to the vent. Granted i know the air won't be COLD if its 110+ in the car & outside, but c'mon my 89 celica could cool down no problem. The A/C in our car sucks ___. I know its because we have the environmentally friendly refrigerants, and there ain't much we can do.
I guess all I can do is have them try and recharge the A/C system.

there were a couple days in the mid-upper 90s here in NY, and AC performed beautifully. AC and recirculate on, with fan most of the way towards high to cool down initially, then turned off recirculate and fan down to 2-3 bars, nice and cool. Know this isn't quite 110+, but figured I'd put in my $.02 (worth less and less these days).
the A/C in the Tc is weak compared to my 97 corolla that never got a freon refill. my corolla's air is ice cold, my tC's is weak at best. i'll do the TSB. is there a TSB number for it?

My $.02
Interestingly, they said the spongy brakes were nromal... part of the Electronic brake Force distribution system or some such silliness. It was my 2d time in on brakes. guwss I will try some new pads, then rotors and calipersif required. Car feels like you have to stomp the brakes to make it stop..
oh well
it still kicks &%^

and as far as the guy talking trash about the pistons.. like i told you, I am not going to get into it.. this is a tC forum.. you want to talk pistons.. go to a sports forum.. so post away, you won't get a response again from me about this.. so take it somewhere else....
Last few days it has been into the mid 90's, and my TC-A/C seems to work as it should, to the point that I have to turn it down after a few minutes, and/or turn up the temp dial..I don't like to use the A/C any more than I have to, but when it gets above 90 with higher humidity..
ok i think i know the deal with the AC.
i leave my car out in the parking lot and it reaches temperatures of 90 degrees + all the time so the car temperature is probably near 100 -110 degrees.
if you turn ur ac on and wait for it to get cold, it doesnt feel that cold, because it's so hot inside already. i thought my ac was just weak or something but when it's like 80 degrees the ac feels very cold in comparison. i figure it's the interior that is overheated and so it makes the ac take awhile to cool everything down... (Just a hypothesis) anyway what i do is i roll the windows down for a good 10-15 min and turn on my ac for another 5 min, then roll windows back up. ac feels colder after that
