Air leak = whistle...but where?
I have had an 05 tC since July. For the past 6-7 months I have had a periodic whistle coming from an air leak somewhere in the front of my car. It occurs at speeds above 65mph but only about half the time I am at those speeds. A whistle is surprisingly hard to locate. I think it sounds like it is coming from the front driver side corner of where the dash meets the windshield. Ive had passengers that think it is coming from the front of the sunroof, but when the sunroof or windows are open you can still hear it. I know I can take it into the dealer, but I'd like to have a clue before I take it in. Usually if the dealer has an idea to focus on they are much more efficient. And they may not be able to recreate the sound.
Does anyone have any ideas or a similar problem?
thanks!

This is not an intake problem. It is way to loud, the loudness changes, it is not related to acceleration, and it does not happen every time. It is definitely not a design. It is a problem. If anybody else has a mystery whistle please let me know if you have found it. Thanks!

Yea its ur stock airbox or intake. It sounds louder when there you are in between buildings/trees/cars and quieter around open areas because of the way the noise bounces off objects. One day i decided to let a friend hold the top part of the airbox while i revved and it was the same noise i heard, just alot louder. Anyways, the airbox is located on the drivers side, almost on top of the wheel.
