Default Airbag safety light came on.

Hey guys. Just recently my air bag safety light came on and it won't turn off. So I was wondering if anyone had any idea of why it came on? I don't remember hitting anything to make the sensors go off. Or it could just be the wiring is off?

But it won't be because of the cold air intake right? I have an appointment with the dealership and I sure hope it's not the intake that caused the airbag light to go off or else it's not covered under warranty...

Did you take apart your dash? Mine came on when I was testing out my system and my HVAC wasn't connected. Took me the longest time to figure out why it was goin off then I realized that the HVAC has an airbag light too. Since that wasn't connected the main Airbag light was goin off.

my engine light came on once after a ***** revved my car to redline in first gear without shifting. it went away, lucky. but none of this really applies to your problem but who doesn't like stories?

nah, it can't be the cold air intake. most likely a faulty wiring. def get it checked out at dealership.

No I didn't take apart my dash. But I did redline my car not too long ago. Could that be the problem just as MilanoRed has said?

i doubt it. airbag lights come on because of something with it that's wrong. engine light could mean a lot of things and redlining is one of the very least concerns if you shift properly and dont' stay in gear.

my anecdote doesn't have anything to do with this kind of problem. it's just that, a story to share.

My SRS warning light came on because of an improper ground in the engine bay. My HID's weren't grounded well enough after install. Fixed the connection annd problem went away.

Ok so I went to the dealership and had my problem checked out and what do you know... some little critter got to my wire harness and chewed it apart. Not only my airbag wires but also my front right parking light wires.... how in the world does this happen... the worst part is that to get a airbag wire hardware costs $2,182 to replace.... unbelievable... that money could have been a TRD supercharger...
