^^ ditto. Mine doesn't even look like a spec anymore. People are shocked when they hear that its a spec, they touch the roof to make sure I'm not lying

Only car I'd consider trading my tC for right now is a Mazdaspeed3.

I wanted a Maxima to begin with but couldn't find any and my other car was breaking down and I was at my parents house 5 hours from where i live. I didnt want to break down somewhere and be stuck. but I should have taken the chance.

I'm going to try to get some money together, either sell the tc or trade it in, (whichever i get more money with or whichever is easier) and get what I really want. I will probably take a hit but I'll have to compensate for it. appreciate your input.

and the si guy... why are you on here if you just put down the tc? i know its not a bentley but a civic isn't either.
Yeah it's always bad to go car shopping when your car is on the brink... try to make sure at the first sign of trouble you start looking around. Never hurts to be prepared.

If you wanted a Maxima then and still wan tone now, I say get a Maxima... it will probably be what makes you happy and short of a Maxima probably any other car you get will just leave you looking for reasons the car you got is not as good as the Maxima you wanted.

Trade in vs private party sell is not as easy as it sounds... remember on a trade in the amount it takes off your purchase doesn't count towards tax, wheras on a private party sell you will probably have to claim income tax on the sale (unless you itemize and can claim the depreciation).

Basically the way I understand it is if you could get 11k private party but the dealership will give you 10k trade in value it's about a wash, becuase you will pay tax on 10k less for the car you buy from the dealer (assuming 10% tax in your state).

Don't take my word as gospel though... I am not really experienced in this world

The only thing I can say though is, if you want a Maxima that bad, get it. You may realize in a few months you really don't like the Maxima either, but then you will know. If you never get the Maxima you will always think it was the perfect car you missed out on.

Problem is... people don't do the research before they buy a car. I bought a tC b/c I wanted a car that wasn't so expensive and that would last me until I get out of college and get a job. Sometimes I wish I had bought something else maybe something faster, but than I realized I don't even race so whats the use? So I stopped buying performance mods and stuck to exteriors and interiors and that has kept me happy ever since. I know 6 years down the line i'll be making money and probably picking up another car, so I'm not tripping too hard, b/c for now I just needa get from point A to point B.

Yeah, like a Si?
Dude, do what makes you happy. Just out of curiosity, have you even modded your spec? With a little cash, you can trick out your ride and have a good looking tC.
No I haven't done anything to it yet, don't get me wrong i love the car, its fun to drive and looks good, but I'm just really picky and have to have all the options (sunroof, cc, nav etc; in my other car i used the sunroof all the time). I am going to be putting rims I had laying around on it tomorrow to get rid of the steels so I guess we'll see.

Yeah I know what you mean, I'm just really picky when it comes to everything, I mean if i'm going to pay that much for something then might as well pay a little extra and get what I want. But I shouldn't have been pressured into getting this car without the options i wanted at least.

About how much do you think I could trade it in or sell it? I checked kbb and all that but I dont rely too much on them, thats even what the dealer told me. its an 07 with 22000 miles, manual and perfect condition.

Sorry for making this so long lol..thanks guys

Yeah thats the reason my dad pressured me into gettin this, he swears by Toyotas and said I just needed something to get me through. I only have a year left but I still feel like I missed out.

Sounds like you have made up your mind and are just trying to convince others to get their ok... I wouldn't worry about that... just go for it. We have all been picky about something a few times in our life, nothing wrong with that.

No idea what you will get trade it, a lot depends on conditions such as how bad the dealer needs to unload the car you want, what they paid for it and how good you are at bargaining.

Give it a shot and see what you come up with... really sucks that they got you into the spec as the normal one has quite a nice sunroof. Make sure this is a lesson you learn from... you can benefit in almost any aspect of life by doing your homework and with the internet at your disposal there is hardly an excuse not to... and never let a car salesman tell you what you don't verify yourself... it won't be sold tomorrow, it's not the deal of a lifetime and you won't be sorry just becuase you went home to think about it

Yeah ur right...you live and you learn... Yeah the tc sunroof is one of the best ones i have seen, just lets in so much light.

I'm going to look around the internet and see if I can find anything for sale that I like. Would anyone be interested in buying mine if I find something??

Not a fan of the RX-8. So much money for so little power. The Mazdaspeed 3 is only 22 grand, 6 speed, boosted 2.3L, pushin 263 hp. 280 tq. Thing gives Zs a run for their money. It'll more then likely be my next car.
