Am I taking off in 1st gear correctly?
From a complete stop:
1. Step on clutch
2. put in first gear
3. give a little gas(the amount you would give moving in a parking lot)
4. release clutch slowly until car starts to move
5. give more gas and let clutch out slowly all the way
I like this way because you lower the chances of stalling.

Yes, that's generaly how you take off in first from a stop in a manual car.
When people burn out, what they're doing is rev'ing up to higher revs, ie:5,000, holding it there, then letting the clutch out extremely fast, (dropping the clutch). Not very good for your engine/tire/drivetrain... But... Fun.

wures7, doing it like that allows the clutch to slip a little - ideally you would let off the clutch entirely and give it gas at the right moment but for all your intents and purposes you could do it like that. It's a lot smoother that way and easier and on a stock clutch it's not so bad - just don't upgrade to a clutch upwards of a ACT stage 3..
I know it may seem like a stupid question but I have heard of another method that would decrease the wear of the clutch. This method increases the chance of stalling but is the CORRECT way. For the record, I don't like this no gas method but if this is the correct way, I will have to unlearn the gas method in my first post.

wures7, both ways work, but w/ the method in your first post, over time you'll wear your clutch out sooner than the latter method. either way, just keep practicing, soon you'll get to the latter method. I wouldn't worry so much about unlearned your previous method, but rather just practicing it, and over time you'll have a good feel for exactly where the contact point is and it'll just all fit together naturally. Don't listen to ****** like HKSpeed, everyone has to learn somewhere.

-both the keys and the key fob works well; the remote entry is so you can unlock your doors early so by the time you get to the door you just pull the handle
-debadging shouldn't be done if you're willing to go through the trouble of swapping the entire hatch

4 clutch in rev in limiter
5 drop clutch and burn baby burn lol

this is how i drive normally, but i blip the throttle a little and then let the clutch out to the friction point, then gas it while letting go of the clutch.
also, when downshifting, i've noticed that because of insane throttle lag, you need to press the gas about halfway down to rev match, otherwise it will take alot longer if you don't press the gas halfway
