Can you measure a gap between the rear wheel well and the wheel itself - there is a slight chance that dealer *ahem* lied.

I've seen black and white springs. No idea if they're any different other than color, nor why they have two colors. You should know whether you car is lowered or not just by looking at the pictures on the board. It's a pretty dramatic difference.

Dont get me wrong, the xB is definatly lower and when I got it back it definatly looked lower!! I jus looked at the curb in front of my girls apartment an the front end looked alot lower, more than 1.18 inches! I didnt notice that they were black till I got home an looked at the springs! I dont wanna be the picky customer that complains about everything cuz it does look good! Theres lots of other springs better than TRD an I want to make sure they didnt give me some cheaper fabbed ones that are gonna put more wear on the ride, while there makin all the money an TRD gets nothin!

If the dealer is telling you 6 or 8 hours froma spring install, I would insist upon watching them do the entire install. You could sleep for 5 hours, then look at the install instructions never having done it before, do the springs, and take a smoke break or B.S. for a while and still be done within 8 hours. I haven't done mine yet, but I gaurantee you if it takes me a single second past 2 hours, I'll consider myself retarded.

I just installed mine took about 4 hours but this was the first time I've ever done springs. If I had access to a lift and air tools my time would be easily cut in half. My dealer wanted 550 for labor alone. Do you think I should wait for the springs to settle to get it realigned or should I get it realigned now?

The TRD springs I got on my car is white. You can see that in my registry pictures. And I was there periodically to check out the work being done at the dealer. They had like one guy working on it, and only one. :? I probably can install the springs myself but messing with a new car is a little scary. :?

dealer's tryin to hose you. every components comes with idiot proof instructions and if their skilled ASE certified techs can't do it within 4hours MAX, then they are hosing you.

i had springs done on my last car for about 280 by a tire shop, just to give you an idea of what you should be paying around.

I'm not sure who you are talking to, but I'm definitely not paying any more than $480 TOTAL. I think that's a reasonable price for the springs, labor, and realignment. It's just a bit of an inconvenience because the dealer who will do it for that price is nearly an hour away. I'm going to see if they have loaner cars, since they'll need the car for awhile.

The TRD springs that I got are white. The stock ones that they removed from my car were black. Not sure if the TRD springs come in black as well though. -Jayme

Hey ScionBandit,
I think the TRD springs look great with the stock wheels. It's not a huge difference but looks much better than stock. You can see some before and after pics on my cardomain page (link in signature). -Jayme

This might be totally unrelated but does the drop from the TRD springs make it any easier on parallel parking? I used to have a celica so I'm comfortable riding low but I can never get a good swift parallel park with the stock setup cause the back is just too damn high up in the rear to guage how far in I am..

either that or I'll just hit an empty shopping center and practice

you can check my cardomain in my sig as well.

as for parallel parking, that's all on when you get comfortable with the dimensions of your car... don't think the springs will help all that much ;)
