Default Antenna Mast Broke Off-possible Solutions?

I was playing ball and somehow, by chance, the ball hit the antenna mast and it broke off. The problem is the long screw is stuck in the base and also in the part of the mast that broke off.

The dealership concluded that I would need a new mast AND base which would run 300$+labor to around 400 something dollars.

Best Buy quoted me at around 200$-250$.

I think I will also go check out local places to see if they had any ideas tommorow.

But I just wanted to get the feedback of the members here, I feel that somehow it could just be glued? back on or something like that. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. k

if you dont use your radio just shave it off. If you do use it maybe you can get the glass antenna thing. Either way Id say shave it. I really want to shave mine off just gotta wait for the money. If you just want to get the stock antenna back im sure there is a way to get that broken piece out. maybe drill a small hole into the broken piece and then use the bit to unscrew the broken piece. take this time to get an s2k antenna if you manage to keep the base.

I believe Claudia had the same problem. her antenna broke off. Someone suggested using a dremmel and cut the stub a little bit. Make it so that you can stick flathead in there and screw the thing out. Not sure how deep urs broke off, but should be able to do it.

did it actaully break the base?

If not, and you cant get on it to turn it out, get yourself a left handed drill bit and drill it. Should turn it right out.

Default thanks.

Thanks for the responses. In the end, I felt stupid, as I was able to take the screw piece out with my fingers...haha and replaced it with a cheap antenna from a store. I'm gonna look into getting one of those S2k ones for sure. ____ed off about how the dealership gave me an estimate of 400 for such an easy fix ><
