I was just wondering if anyone happened to get a Scion tC recently by pure luck, like I just did (yay, I have a black automatic! too bad it has NO accessories in it - not even a radio - they're all on order).

I've been waiting almost two months for my tC, either a flint mica or a black. I've been having dealer problems with them telling me what's going on, and as of last week I was told the car was in port newark and the port was backed up and it would be a week or two to get my car.

I decided to check up on them today to see what was going on. He was giving me some runaround about where the car was and this and that (now saying it wasn't even allocated). While he was doing this I was browsing their site, and saw that on their inventory list they had a Black automatic tC listed.

I mentioned this to him a few times, and after saying he hasn't seen one and doesn't know anything, he told me he'd go check and see what was going on. and to call him back in 5 minutes.

I called him back, and he told me "come on in, the car is yours". He told me that the tC was someone else's, but their deal fell through and I could have it.

I feel bad for the person who was waiting so long and couldn't take the car home, but I'm happy since I have one

Who knows how long I would've waited otherwise.

Has anyone else gotten lucky like this recently?

 

I was lucky enough that they had some in their inventory... I just had to wait on my Credit Union's financing, which took long enough...

But hey, I consider it lucky just to have this baby!

 

Want to hear something strange? They took my old car tonight and let me take home my tC. I haven't even given them the check yet for the car, I won't until at least tomorrow or Friday at the latest (I'm doing it through a Credit Union too).

 

I walked in, told him what I wanted (azure pearl manual tC). He told me it might take a few months to which I told him I didn't care. Next week I had my car.

I've been waiting 7 weeks for a BSP 5-Spd. The dealer called me last Tuesday and said the person ahead of me on their list who ordered an SSM 5-spd backed out of the deal (they already bought another car), and I could have it if I wanted. I said sure. The car is still at port (as of 9/12/04). It should be in after this whole hurricane business. Yay!

 

Ordered mine on Sat and it came in on Wed... Don't know if it was luck. They told me it would take weeks, but I made them show me their shipping report, and looked for the automatic with an "F", for freight status. Dealer said it wasn't sold yet, and I bought it. It helps to be pre-approved from a credit union when you walk in the door... There is less risk for the dealer.


It's not strange that you didn't give them cash... Your trade was your down payment, and I'm sure that you filled out the Toyota financing forms. It's a default loan at a higher percentage than you can get at a credit union.

 

I was luckier! When I signed up for my TC, I was told 4-6 weeks (like usual) from my a dealership (after $1,000 non refundable deposit).

Well, my current care wasn't going to hold out, b/c it was falling apart. So, I called back the next week saying, "i need a loaner car or something, b/c my current car is a POS!"....they said "sorry, it is against policy, you have to wait your turn for you tc..go rent a car while you wait ..SOL".....and then they offered me my $1000 back...(thinking I wouldn't take them up on their offer, b/c I couldn't get a TC any faster anywhere else)

Within 1 hour!!!!! I had found a black TC with: Spoiler! Security! Mud Guards! 6 disc changer! Floor/Cargo Mats! sitting on another dealerships lot!!!!

I called back to the original dealership and said "Give me my money back!" and was driving off in my new Black TC within 12 hours!!!

Waiting for $3,000 worth of accessories to arrive. I don't even have a radio right now!!

Wow I am still waiting. My 5spd flint mica Tc is suppost to be at the dealer by the 20th. I wish I could be so lucky, I have been waiting since the 11th of august.

 

Eh somewhat

strut bar, blue LED's, floor mats, subwoofer, wheel locks, security system, xm radio, 6cd changer, auto-dimming mirror, cargo net, bumper protector, and door sill enhancements.

I wanted the fog lights but according to them they won't be available for a month or so, ah well.

 

I was told the usual 4-6 weeks when I ordered my Flint Mica 5spd. So I called after about 4 weeks, I just wrecked my truck and was in need of a new car, and was told it would take another 4 weeks after taking a look at the allocation. Well I'm patient and I knew I could bum rides from my friends lol. But apparently my friend got tired of driving me, so he took it upon himself to find a tC at a different dealership. Within 15 min at sitting at his computer he found a black sand pearl at a nearby dealer. I called them up and they said it just came in today and is available. Stopped by, and within a couple of hours I drove off in my new black tC. Only drawback is that it's a auto oh well beggers cant be choosers I guess. But the black sand pearl is a beautiful color!

 

I went to place my order last Saturday. Sales guy said 3 cars were just comming off a truck and only one wasn't pre-sold. It turned out to be the exact car I was going to order. 2 hours later, I'm on the road (including selling my 11 year-old Camry).

FYI, Carmax gets the bulk of the dealer alotments in the Baltimore area from what I've been told.

 

Do the dealer know that you gonna finance through your own CU? Beware of spot delivery scam. But you'll be fine if you finance through your CU. Just be careful, if you decided to finance through the dealership, do not sign anything "subject to financing".

 

i actually got mine the same week. i test drove it on monday, on friday i went in agani to talk about possible contract, and the same afternoon i drove it off the lot.

 

I walked into the dealership randomly one day and saw my SW 5-speed with a lip spoiler sitting there next to the xBs ... the ONLY tC there. They told me that someone ordered it with a $50 deposit, but changed their minds. If I could put $500 down it was mine. Drove it home the next day

 

IN MAY:
walked in one dealer with friends... said i wanted to buy a tC "NOW!".. he laughed...
i came in 45 mins later with rents... i said "Where's The Closest Toyota/Scion Dealership...!! haha"...
went to another dealer... 30 mins away, found out my neighbor was the GM of all Shore Scion/lexus/Toyota...
Said no downpayment needed.. The Car Has Your Name On It.......Now...
what do you know june 28 rolls around... i see a big a$$$ trucker w/ Scions on it...
and i saw 1 tC>.
followed it all the way to the dealership..
called my rents.. got it signed... got it cleaned... got it home in 1 hr...
but the only thing was i wanted flint mica/black.... they got white.. i said cool
...drove to other dealer that said "ha ha"... i said "ha ha" said byebye
luck yes.. hardwork for 408.79 monthly payments... yes.... loving it... yes!

 

VEGAS has all the tc's i geuss .. went to a dealer on july 1st they had 6 to choose from the other dealer had 4 and the other had 4 and to this day they always have a running total of atleast 4 . they sell them quick but keep getting more and more in
