Woo! Looks like I spoke too soon!

Got a message today from my salesmen saying they have my flint tC in the shop and getting detailed as we speak! Went in after work to check it out, and sure enough, there it was! Hopped in just to take a look around - first noticed that it had 140 miles on it. Asked him why and he said they traded with a dealer and made it clear that it was never a demo, I'm cool with that.

Look around a bit more - open up the stereo cover, no stereo! He tought it was all ready to go, heh, guess not. I was told it should be in by tomorrow when I come to pick it up, so here's hopin!

Ask, and ye shall receive, eh?

Looked for tC 5-spd this summer... got standard '4-6 weeks, $1K deposit' speech. Said I'll check later...

One day I'm sitting at home, bored, decided to call all dealerships for 5-spd tC. Plenty of autos on the lots, no manuals... then, one dealership said they have a 5-spd, somebody else paid $1K and did not follow through, its mine if I get there before someone else gets it. Went to dealer, got the car same day, enjoying it now .

Made a call to a dealership Wednesday. Talked to a saleslady about possibly getting one, told her i wanted an automatic and wasnt picky on color. Called me back in one hour saying they have a buyer for a tC they got the other day but she doesn't have enough credit, and she has til 5pm the next day to get the money. 5pm the next day, its mine. Signed papers and picked it up on Friday.

See, that's good luck. To balance it out, my bad luck comes into play and my driver's seat got messed up like 5 hrs after I took delivery...the seatback doesn't lock for some reason.

oh well. I'm still giddy.

I got lucky myself. I was waiting at a local dealership from 8/10 through 9/3 before I started sending emails to dealers in TN (I live in AL). I had one contact me a few days later saying they'd look for me a BSP 5-speed with side airbags. My dealer didn't have any clue when they might possibly get one in. 2 or 3 allocations had come and gone and still no car. 3 weeks I was told everytime. The dealer that had contacted me sends me an email on 9/9 saying that have it coming in from port and it was mine if I went up, signed and left a deposit. I did it that day. They said it will be here this monday 9/20. With the fog lights I had ordered with it. (They have them available in their region. Not available in the southeast. When I asked the first dealer for the check back all of the sudden they're "calling in favors". Bah... should have worked that hard to begin with dummies :p.

For those of you "waiting for radio's", WHy don't you just goa nd get one installed aftermarket. I feel the stock radio sound crappy anyway and you can't even grow on it cheap. $500 bucks for xm?, $300 for a sub?, That's ridiculous. I fit a radio in a tC for a coworker and we used the MR-2 kit. I used the Celica kit in my xB and it fits great. THe radio was the first thing to go and the car sounded way better. Now I run a full system and no Scion sound processor is gonna beat it. ANyone in Chicago reading this better come see me for their install.

There was one night in july that I came to a mandatory TSW meeting. After the meeting, I talked to the Scion guy there and he said that he had one in the back that was stock.
I was soo happy cuz I just wanted a stock 5spd either BSP or IIP and it was an IIP. It just came off the truck like an hour before the meeting started. So I just traded in my xA and drove it straight to work that night (i work graveyard shifts).

My first drive ... i went up to 100mph and didn't even know. I was like "wtf .. why is everyone going so slow?" Then I noticed that I was going too fast. The first person I called was subcode (mike jett) and then chillen310 (peter w/ the interior). Yep ... i was lucky.
