Default Anyone else getting jacked around

Hey...just wanted to vent a little here.

I have been to 3 Southern California Scion dealers and not one dealer would take my order.

2 of the dealers basically just told me "to get in line". 1 dealer that received the demo tC sold it...so pretty much no one else but the person who bought it even had a chance to see it on the lot.

I mean what is going on with Toyota/Scion. For one: dealers that I have talked to know nothing about the whole product line. I go in there to inquire about the car and I end up telling them about available options, delivery dates and so on.

I want a tC that has the side impact air bags installed...This option can't possibly be a dealer install. So how am I supposed to get my car the exact way I want it if I can't get anyone to actually take the order? Can you imagine waiting to get a Black tC with side Impact Air Bags, Automatic, Subwoofer, Rear lip kit, Supercharger, TRD Exhaust, and Security System.

Does anyone know HOW to tell which options are dealer installed and which options are factory from looking at the tC website.

Other than a different sound coming out from the rear of the car can anyone tell me if the Exhaust option gives the car a small horse power boost. I mean the information that you can get from the website in regards to options is pitiful.

Anyway...I feel much better now...I mean holy cow they have only had a year and a 1/2 to get ready for the release.

Default tC

I am not sure why your dealer is not willing to order the car for you. As far as options, the only factory options are the side/curtain airbags. Everything else should be available at the dealership, and some can be ordered on the car. pArt of it depends on your region, but hte only thing that cannot be dealer-added is the airbags.
As far as the exhuast goes, the rep I spoke to said that it only gives 1 hp, but that when TRD took the complete exhuast system off and ran straight pipes it only gained 1 hp. So t seems that they have the exhuast tuned the best it can be tuned. For more hp, I would look to other areas of the engine, or wait until an after-market company comes out with something that has been dyno-proven to be better. FYI, the exhuast does sound really go tho.

You also have to figure that you've been reading every single bit of information and every review that's been coming out on the tC since you've been interested in it. You can't expect the salesman to be quite as enthusiastic about every single car they sell.

As for not taking your order.. I can't explain that. Did you offer to put down a deposit? I can understand why someone wouldn't want to put down a deposit before seeing the car in person.. but if you're not willing to put down a deposit, you have to understand that there are some who are willing to put their money down now.. and it only makes sense that they're at the beginning of the line.

Those Scion guys have a whopping three vehicles to learn about. No wonder they have such a hard time, espeically given the hundreds of ways they can be ordered from the factory. I mean they have to specify the color and the transmission...

Tustin Toyota

South Coast Toyota

and Irvine Toyota

I am located in Irvine CA.

The guy from Tustin Toyota was really nice but I specifically told him when I was there what I wanted including SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAGS. Which I know is a factory option.

The people from South Coast and Irvine sold their demo the day it came in and basically told me that I would just have to wait until the cars start to roll in which would be this weekend.

However I still have the issue of the side curtain air bags which probably only 10% of all production cars will have coming from the factory. So unless I specifically put my order in I will be way in the back of the line.

Anyway I was just ____ed after the weekend and felt that I needed to vent a little and was just wondering if anyone else has had the same experience?

I will go back and specifically state that I WANT TO GET MY CAR ON ORDER.

I live in Irvine too and had the same experience. I also get differing information from each salesperson at the same dealer!

At Irvine Toyota:
Salesperson 1: Yes, you can put a $200 deposit to reserve one when it comes
Salesperson 2: We are getting about 50 of them next month but not taking deposits
Salesperson 3: We are getting 1 of them next week and its first come first serve
Salesperson 4: Give me a call on Sat night and I'll let you know what comes in, we have some in stock but cant sell till Jul 4

Tustin Toyota:
What is Tc? Toyota Camry? lol jk, this guy knew even less.

I was tempted to call Longo and put a deposit in. Seriously some of these dealerships need to get their act together.

Default cant go wrong w/Longo

You should check out Longo, and talk to Verone or Sergio.
I put down my deposit w/Verone on 6/16, and received his call on 6/24 saying that my tC has arrived and would be ready for pick up on Friday; but he wasn't gona be at the office so I did the paperwork w/Sergio.
Everything went smoothly, and I'm one happy driver now. I didnt order any accessories except for the mat and asked for a manual. Probably that helped me get the car ahead of time.

Wow, I'm sorry to hear you guys are having so much trouble out there. No I'm really glad my experiance was the opposite. Hell, All I did was walk in, took the demo for a drive, put down a deposit, and walked out.
