Default Anyone got door dings yet?

2 weeks after I got my 2003 Civic Ex coupe someone kicked in the rear quarter panel making a huge dent about 2 feet long. On top of that, there are numerous door dings all over it. The car is only like 15 months old to. I am wondering how long it will take until someone dings my Scion TC.

I wonder how long it will take before most get a ding, Im guessing a few months at most, especially with the huge side panels the tC has, their sooooo prone to dents.

I go out of my way to park far far away.

Reason why I spent the extra on a good 2 way alarm, wont bother install the LCD DVD deck I wanted, and will always keep stuff out of sight.

I don't even want to think about door dings.

I love above a movie theater.. so at night, I park where lots of people are always coming and going.

And I'm a webmaster at a local university.. Hopefully I'll never have to park my car in student parking...

The tires all have rim guards meaning that they stick out farther than the rim. I've hit a curb once but got away with it because of the rim guard.

I was going to ask this question, but I didn't want to because I'm too ____ed.

Last weekend, I received my first door ding. From a POS rusted Crown Victoria...I even parked in the far spaces. Luckily the car was still there. I took pictures.

My audi was backed into about a month ago, so I was livid this time. I waited for 4 hours by their car waiting for them to come out. They never showed up. I left them a lovely letter.

Luckily, my insurance company (as will most) will waive the deductible. Otherwise, I'd be tracking that car down and taking my 500 dollars.

The ding is a small one, 4 tiny scratches (total area about a 1/4 of the size of my pinky fingernail) and it's on the rear fender (parking spaces were at angles) near the wheel well...The door would have been much worse.

Haven't got any door dings :knocks on wood: but I've come close to getting hit by blind old people! A few days ago I'm driving in the lane beside this Buick and this old @#$! decides to change lanes without looking and almost side swipes me! Having a problem with road rage, I proceed to continue driving after the preceding honking and flipping off, waiting until a stop light, get out of my car and scream "WATCH WHERE YOU'RE GOING YOU OLD B*TCH!", get in my car... and drive to work.

Try living in downtown Washington, D.C. I am not looking forward to the day when I get into my car and notice a huge scrape on one of my bumper corners from someone trying to "squeeze" by my car out of a paralel parking spot. *sigh* Door dings aren't an issue in D.C.... its all the potholes (not bad this time of year, but horrible after the first snow) and all the bumper scrapes and scratches.

Door dings are not to bad. It would suck to get my car vandalized again though. Having a 2 foot long dent in a 2 week old car sucked.

That sounds like the least of your problems...

Someday (unless natural selection hopefully steps in) you, too, will reach old age ... enjoying the limited vision, hearing and mobility that comes with it. Maybe she honestly didn't see you, given her physical limitations, not that she was acting as part of some giant conspiracy to wreck your car.

Should some old people give up their keys? Sure... but some are more likely to act defiantly (and I'll bet you'll be one of them) and keep on driving until someone forces them to do so.

So lighten up - _____ing out old ladies is for ___s... it's a @#$%& Scion for god sake - they make more everyday.

Agree. In DC, I would definitely not be getting out of my car. Even the old folks could be carrying.....

to avoid door dings tips:
1) dont brag about your car
2) dont show it off
3) dont park to close to folks
4) park far away
5) dont park it near a busy area
6) buy a really big fold up cardboard box to put over your car hehehehe :D

havent curb my rims yet, i park hella far from the curb and park blocks , good thing the tC is pretty small

First day, I curbed my rims and put a little scratch. I knew something would happen but just wasn't sure.
