Anyone here have their Sunroof shatter yet?
Really curious, mine did out of nowheres today. Brought it to the dealership they took pictures, filed a report and gave me a rental car.
It's happened a few times on the forums. This sort of thing happens with all cars, but it *seems* like it's happening more with ours. However, forums give that illusion often times. Was it open? Did something go through it?
well mine is still in one piece.. but i always hear rattling.. in know its pretty much self fixable(so i heard) but im lazy ..... and every once in a while when i go down a drive way or some sort of little bump (and i mean little) i will hear some sort of popping noise from the sunroof (ANY ONE ELSE NOTICE THAT?)

You want to look up investigations.. by vehicle. They list it as a Toyota Scion tC.
They are investigating this as a possible candidate for a recall. I have heard of a few others doing this, and it seems they all complained of the creak/pop beforehand.

Some glass fragments fell on me and in the passenger seat. I pulled over to check what the hell happen, could not find any trace of something hitting it or anything. Drove straight to the dealership. They did handle the matter in a swiftly manner. And they also gave me a rental while the car is being repaired. I would of rather had my tC to drive around for the memorial day weekend however.

What were the circumstances when your sunroof shattered?
What did the dealer say about this when you showed it to them?
Is your insurance covering this under collision or comprehensive coverage, and if it's collision, why?
I'm gonna bump because i think everyone that has experienced the glass roof shattering in anyway, should go to the NTSHA website and file a complaint. I was looking through all their research docs so far, it on file, there are only 3 incidents associated with this investigation. Since the investigation started, there are now only a total of 5 shatter related incidents on record for the NTHSA. I think we should raise that number, and hence the awareness of this issue.
