Apples and Oranges?!
i second that
no way tC can beat a bmw
the price is expensive, but it worths your money.
it is slow, but you get the luxurious.

I don't see how (for speed purposes) a $34,000 car is better than an $22,000 car make by a respectable company with the best quality ratings ever seen.
The real advantage is the RWD.. nice, but not a must for your every day street racer car... and for the extra $12K, he could do a lot better
But.. let's consider the buy tC vs. the lease BMW factor...
tC with S/C approx $22,000 out the door, with $1500 down payment
figuring decent credit for 5 year loan at 6.9% is $435/mo
BMW 325i with package approx 34000 out the door, with $1500 (it'll actually cost you more than this) towards tax and deposit
figuring decent credit... $570/month
That's $135/month.. and you actually own the car.
With the BMW, your looking at a residual of about $24-26K after 3 years if you actually want to buy the car...so your $20,520 that you've paid over the previous 3 years amounts to about what, $10k???
the BMW is a nice car- no doubt...
Think outside the box.
the best hands down pro to a nice new beamer is - pickin up the ladies! he's already married so get the tC! lol - when the ladies when they ask what kind of car my tC is i say, "the poor man's beamer" and it works too! lol Just say anything with beamer and you're in. Ok sorry....bad tangent there...
Thanks guys for your replies.
It looks to be that I will be buying a non-supercharged tC.
Or I will be keeping my Sentra and my wife will be trading in the (slow as a turtle) CRV for a '05 Highlander 2wd V6.
The BMW wouldn't make much sense financially.

well, this is my kinda thread...
I drive an '01 325i auto with SP... paid $32,700 plus tax, etc... driven it three years... I financed it with $500 down and payments are $640/month... I was right out of school, it was a college grad program with 7.5% interest... not the greatest, but who cares... I was driving a beamer... (ok it has 4 wheels... a bimmer)
well fast forward to now... in the last 90 days (since I broke 50k miles) I have spent some bucks... I am tired of it... this week I spent $50 on brake pads (front only), and another $180 on rotors and brake sensor... I did the labor myself... took longer to drive and pick up the parts than it did to twist the wrench... BUT, I still made that payment... I have basically no value in the car... the 60 month note barely beats depreciation... and TRUST me... my car is immaculate... one time I let someone carry their cigarettes in their pocket while they rode with me, and once I went through the drive through at Taco Bell and didn't stop to put them in the trunk... needless to say there was never a single fry eaten in my car... my car smells brand new and looks totally new... never got a single drop of lemon spray or any BS in it and no damn scented Xmas trees on my mirror... I have one nick on the windshield and a small door ding on the passenger door... my tires are about 1/2 to 2/3 through their life... but the car is maintained.... and trade value barely beats the depreciation...
keep in mind that on that lease you are limited to mileage, most of the advertised programs start at 10k miles/year... what a joke... homeless people WALK 10k a year... little kids on big wheels break 10k...
you can finance the tC at 36 months cheaper than you can finance the BMW at 60 months... you'll have almost equal performace... 0-60 auto for BMW is high 7s... stick is low 7s... tC is mid 7s for stick and mid 8s for auto... close enough...
I am a convert, two more weeks and I am in tC land... take the $300/month savings and finance the tC for 60 months and put your kid through college... or take your wife on a vacation... OR do like me and blow the money on a weekend warrior race car like a 914 or a Miata...
