QUESTION(s):
So I'm thinking I want to get into autocross...
How do I get involved? I go to Indiana University - I'm wondering if there might be a club or something around here.

Also, I'm thinking my big 'ol enkei's may be a bit detrimental to the handling - I can always feel the added weight when I switch from the stockies back to the EVO-5s at the beginning of summer. Any suggestions for a good wheel - lightweight, probably a 17"? I know about like, the Konig Heliums and Feathers, but I want something that looks good too - I'm thinking about going bronze for these wheels, make 'em pop a bit.

Thanks in advance for the help!

5Zigen F-N01R-C is a good lightweight wheel, http://www.5zigenusa.com/english/pro...fn01rchot.html . There's Enkei RPF-1 also. Quality wheels that are fair priced.

well if they're only going to be autox-rims then styling shouldnt matter cause noone goes, look at those rims when you're racing the clock ahah but its up to you. i say rpf-1's since they're only 15lbs a rim. and check out this site: https://www.motorsportreg.com/ click on the events calender in the top left and you can search for auto-x events near you

Been a while - but I've got some updates.
First thing's first, how about some random recent pictures:

I just thought this was funny, my roof is at the top of his bed.

As for the updates:

First of all I finally got around to doing something about the sounds in this car:

Scion Premium HU (Pioneer T1809)
New speakers in the front door - Memphis Car Audio Components
Dynamat in both doors

Soon I'll be ordering the Elemental Designs SQ10 with the stealth box, which leads me to my first question:

What kind of amp am I going to need to power the SQ10? I'm trying to spend as little as possible here - the real reason I'm getting the SQ10 is just so that I can have the option of turning the subwoofer DOWN. The 08-10 stock sub gets it's signal from the front speakers and has no gain control and I hate it. So I'm just looking for the bare minimun to power the new sub.

I'm also still looking into new wheels. So if anyone is interested in my 18" Hyper Black Enkei Evo-5's, hit me up - I'm looking for trades or cash. I'm not going to put this in the PPC's yet because I'm still sort of in a preliminary phase with the new wheel search.

I want something light weight to possibly autocross with, as I said above, but I also want them to be DD-able, so they've got to look good, and be able to hold up to the inevitable pot hole.

I've been looking at the O.Z. Alleggerita HLT. They're only 17 lbs at 18"x7.5", 16 lbs for a "17. Thinking gold or maybe even white - time to switch things up - but I'm definitely open to other suggestions.

And finally - this one's kind of a doozy - I'm thinking about putting my custom TYC's up for trade. JUST TRADE. And only for a set of RS3's - no TYC's with amber. Hit me up if you're interested.

If you read this whole post, thanks haha.

I love these wheels already, and the tires (Firestone Firehawks) are awesome as well - incredibly quiet on the road and real sticky.

Congrats on the new wheels. Can't wait to see better pics. Any noticeable difference with those lower weight wheels?

Definitely - the steering wheel is noticeably lighter compared to when my 22 lb Evo-5's were installed. Combined with the 8" width and great tires, H&R coilovers, and TRD rear sway, the car just handles. I can't really put it another way. It's pretty amazing really. I still haven't found the car's limit cause I've been too scared to push my own.

are those REAL TYCs? ive never seen ones with chrome up top, always either amber, or red for the RS3s... but i had the idea to get some regular ones and paint the top part chrome, and you just made my decision to do that much easier lol.... looks really good

They're a custom made set I got from someone who worked at TYC. Clear turn signal, and chrome finish where normal TYC's are black.

Actually thinking about trading them - but only for RS3's so, yea.
