Authbahnd roadblock?
I got a call from my dealer who I bought the car from a week or so back saying that the Autobahn roadblock kit was in and I should bring my car in to have it put on. I'm not sure what that is - and I don't remember ordering anything like that. I had to leave my car with them and get it back tomorrow. Any idea what it does? Does anyone have it on their tC? I'm not sure if it's worth me being without my car for a night - but let's see...
Wouldn't this be a good question for your dealer that's going to put "it" on?
It's a clear film that protects the paint from chips. They usually apply it to the bumper and hood and other leading edges. The sooner you get it done, the better. The new paint processes don't hold up to rock chips as well these days.

Yeah, I asked the sales guy when he called me and I got a bunch of "uh" and "I dunno"'s. They're idiots. I think someone else ordered it for their car and they are putting it on my car - fine with me. I'm sure it's not that expensive, but ya can't beat free!
Check out the price online, because you might be wrong.
My dealer quoted me for $700 (product and installation) to get that done on my xB. Plus they didn't even know who could do it at their service shop because trust me, I watched my installer do my Rockblocker kit, and it takes a lot of patience. I was the first xB my installer ever did, and he did a phenomenal job, plus he said he's been doing it for 10 years, on much more expensive cars too.
Rockblocker was cheaper and he knows his installers.
But if you're getting it for free, then I sir, am in your debt.
