autocross is better because it has more to do with the drivers skill. 1/4 mile time is more a measure of the cars capability. i know that the driver has to be capable of launching and shifting properly, but setting a good autocross time is harder and requires more skill and technique than going in a straight line from a stop as fast as possible.

autocross is alot more fun and exciting because I know my xA will keep up with a tC on an autocross but in a strait line drag race obviously the tC is gonna take it......... um yeah

I read somewhere that drag is for fast cars, and autox is for fast drivers.

I couldn't agree more.

You also don't need deep pockets for autox.

i agree, however, autocross racing does cost $$$... if you are a weekend warrior who enjoys relaxing day at the track.. sure.. however, if you want to race it.. different ball game!! i will tell u that from a personal experience!!

well, to enter an autocross here in vegas, its 40 if you're not a member of the scca. and your car does generally as well as your driving skill and experience, which costs nothing but time. and modifications to suspension offer the greatest benefit, which are not terribly expensive.

to get a car to get good drag times, it requires much money investment, and if it's already fast, it's already more expensive to start with then.

thats what I mean to imply. also, through autocross you become a better driver in all situations and know the limits of your car.

well... if you want to test your xb.. join us at firebird raceway.. there are different group class running the track.. so u can select the group you are comfortable with...

u get about 20 mins per session.. and u can have a driving instructor ride with you so they can give you pointers....

since you're asking for an opinion from Scion owners and not the D&S region I am going to move this to the Scion tC owners lounge where you will most likely get more feedback and the thread will be public to more people.

I say 1/4 mile though is going to be easier to perform more often and more popular.

It should really be in autosports if you don't want to leave it in D&S.
