Default AWD Scion Tc

Okay so i have a crazy idea and i just wanted to know what you guys think about it.... i want to get a salvaged Sti and use the drivetrain and engine and drop it in my Tc...

My dad has a shop and is a pro welder and has everything that we will need to do it but im still not really sure... just playing everything out nothing is for sure right now..

I just think it would be fricken sweet to have a AWD TC and please dont hate and tell me to just go buy a STI if i wanted a STI i would just go buy one... i want a AWD TC...

So let me know what you think about the whole idea

Didn't someone do this with a civic hatch? A tc would be amazing, but you'll have to do a ton of measuring and research to see if everything will work out. I'm sure the guy that built the civic would be glad to help.

Yes they did, And it was the best build log I have ever seen. It was sooooo dope.
I say do what you want to do... A awd tC would be sick. Salvage STI parts aren't cheap around here.

should do it, just one thing... sti drivetrain is only gonna fit a subie flat-4 motor. idk what world racing did to make their car but its definitely a custom transmission on the stock motor

looks like you wanna have ones cake and eat it too.

Lets say for a second you do pull it off. Your going to run into a TON of problems, not to mention you'll be taking a dump on your resale value. Just be ready for that, dont think its a simple swap and yay AWD STI powered tC.

EDIT: Why not RWD? Take a look at the Ken Gushi and Tanner Foust tCs'. Gotta put alot of work and money into it.

lol, do you even know anything about those cars? and the work/parts that went into them?

your making it sound like that would be way easier than what the OP wants to do

Yes, I edited my post afterwards. He wants to replace the drivetrain anyway. I'm trying to let him know that the whole process is not as simple as he thinks. Just making sure hes aware.

Well according to him its a "crazy idea" he had. He hasn't even brought it up with his dad, whos a professional. To me, he sounds uninformed, I'm not trying to discourage him, just trying to be real.

What I was saying is if he wants to do something crazy like that, looks at some of those other built tC's and find out what problems those guys ran into, what they could/couldn't do, etc.

Looks like you have the right attitude going into it. As I said before, try and find people who've been there/done that.

That would be pretty sick. I know someone who made an Acura Integra rear wheel drive. Engine in the back and everything!
