look at the civic build i posted.
the easiest way to do it just like he did.

take the tc body and put it on the subaru frame. That way you maintain all of the subarus OEM parts.

I think there have been similar threads about this before and they went nowhere. Someone needs to do it already, lol...

World racing put over $100K into their AWD tC if i'm not mistaken.

yeah i dont really have 100k to spend on this lol that would be nice....

But i dunno about putting the TC Body on the subaru frame they are both unibody frames so this not like a truck frame or anything like that its way different in every way... if you looked at that guy with the civic he had to rip apart both cars and with the TC having a all glass roof i dont know if that would be as easy i think it would be harder that way...

I dont know maybe im wrong

And not to hate on STI's or anything like that but they are ugly inside... the TC has way cooler interior

I realize you're just kind of in the planning of this... But I'll believe it when I see it. I've seen way too many of these threads in the 5 yrs I've been here and not a single one of them has gone anywhere. Even if they've known someone with a shop or something. There is just no way to really know the amount of time and money you'd need to put into this, no matter who's doing the work.

Best of luck to you and all, but again, I'll believe it when I see it.

So here is what I was planning on doing

It might sound kinda stupid but here it go's

I want to cute everything that is on the way under the car to make room for the drive shaft...

Do the same for the rare end... I know ill have to make custon mounts so everything will linr up....

And pretty much the same thing for the engine... if I had to I could get a custom drive shaft made...

And I would make a custom exhaust.....

What do you think?? Just for a start

1.) i think your drunk
2.) i think your seriously underestimating the time, skill, engineering, money, etc that this is going to take.

oh and $7000?
really? like really really?
it will prob cost you more than that if you already had both a brand new STI and brand new Tc in your possession.

do some more research before you end up in hole you cant get out of.

$7,000? Really? That's being waaayyyy too optimistic. It'd been done if it was, I'll just stick to Forza 3. There was an All-Trac conversion done on the last generation Celica, might want to research on that too. Post up pics of the conversion as you follow through.

What all do you think ill have to buy other than the busted STI.... and small stuff...

Im not trying to sound like my dad can do anything but he can do alot thats his job to have skills, engineering,

And we have every kind of metal we could need in his shop... most of the stuff we would make

I dont know i will have to look into it alot more

I bet you guys are right and im just dreaming to big lol

why dont you start by gathering measurments.
STI wheelbase vs. tC wheelbase
Engine sizes, motor mount locations, driveshaft length, position of shifter on STI vs tC.

This is not just a simple drop the STI parts into the tC and go.
your going to need custom motor mounts, prob gonna have to cut up the floor in the tc to move the hole for the shifter, not to mention you will have to take measurements for the dif. and exhausts to see if anything interferes with the gas tank etc.

and if you want the tc interior like you said, your gonna have to do a ____load of work to maintain all the luxuries in your tc while also having a properly running motor.

oh and if YOUR asking US what we think you have to buy, id say you prob. dont have the knowledge to complete this. Not trying to insult you in any way, but you have to know cars pretty damn well to do stuff like this.

Yeah i understand and your probably right...

I was thinking of all of that stuff you said about the motor mounts and cutting out the floor for the drive shaft....

Maybe im crazy and i wouldnt want to be out of 2 cars that would be pretty sh*ty

i dont know ill take some measurements and ill ask my dad in the first place and see what he says...

He might just tell me im dumb lol

But thanks for the help and no hard feelings i wanted to here i couldnt do it in a way lol

But thanks again

your dad might laugh at you if he's nice..

i just tell people.. if you have enough money.. anything is possible... but the time and engineering involved with such a project? you might as well build a car from scratch.

telling you man 3s-gte out of a celica alltrac...engine, tranny, ecu $1090, caldina rear end (awd wagon)...might be a little hard to come by but is a modified version of what Gushi is running, and it bolts up!!!!...custom motor mounts, custom exhaust, custom tranny mounts, custom drive shaft(s), custom shift linkage, wiring nightmare, and you are ready to go!

Might as well have spare 20K or so and take your car to Ken Gushi or papadakis racing and have them build everything...
Papadakis racing built Tanner Foust's tC and they used supra rear end.

i guess this thread is gonna have 20+ pages of what has to be done, can it be done,or should i do it,i say take the plan into action, just have to do tons and tons more research prior to making a thread like this, cause if you did all the home work and i mean every little thing then made a thread on explaining whats goona be done and actually doing it i think youll get more respect, just my 02 sense, cause honeslty this thread is useless....i understand is your trying to get feedback but all the feedback is geniune and what you would expect
