Bike rack
I haven't seen anyone rocking those. There is nowhere to hook to lower down because it's a hatch. you could probably run the hooks up to the top of the trunk lid, assuming the straps were long enough.
The yamaha roof rack is nothing new for the tC - it uses the same footings that they've always sold. They have a soft sort of rubbery base that sits at the edge of the roof and hooks into the door frame and supports the cross bars. Only the little foot for the tC is car specific. i've got the setup for my Integra, but I'd never put it on this car. Not only would I never put it on the glass, I'll never put it on this car because they always end up scratching, at least a little. Not on my baby.

Don't know how easy the Yakima is to use, but the Saris roof racks go onto the car in under 2 minutes, and come off in less than 1 minute.
Exactly - my logical mind knows that it would totally work if I was careful. The cautious part of me just goes screw it - if I need to move my bike, it will be inside the car on my cargo mat or in someone else's car.
Saris Racks are nice and if you check out their website, you can use the custom fitter to to find what you need. They make special round clips that are for use on a hatch with glass to keep it from breaking. www.saris.com
aiieee, can't imagine putting a trunk rack on the tC, it'd be bad against the glass and the trunk rack always seems to scratch the cars up a lot worse than other types of racks. I did the following:

took a little "modification" to make it work perfectly, mainly taking the plastic wingnuts off of the trays where they attach to the rear crossbar and cutting the bolt down by a bit. now the sunroof opens fine, but it's loud at highway speed. it's definitely a little louder than a stock tC, but it's the price you gotta pay, I guess. I'm also going to be experimenting with the wind fairing in the spring, with the sunroof open the car's wind deflector pushes up against the fairing. creates a nice little wind-tunnel effect, so I'm going to be looking into creating a tighter seal between the fairing and the deflector.
your other option would be having a custom hitch mount fabricated for it, when I called around in the fall nobody had one out yet, but Uhaul might've come up with something by now. and yes, I've been VERY careful about the glass roof, I've got full glass, but does anybody know if this would be covered?
no its definitely not optimal, but if you want to ride... other thing is its expensive, probably almost $500 once its all said and done; feet, bars, clips, trays and wind fairing. hope this helps, and let me know if you have any other questions.
