Default blindspots and paintchips ... simple advice is my gift

I know there are some new or at least young ( read naive? lol ... jk ) car owners here.
so..

Go get some one dollar round blind spot mirrors and tack them to the outer edge of your side mirrors. Can save u a poopload of money on damages or at fault wrecks.
Blind spot problem SOLVED.

and also on painchips....
im amazed how many people follow too closely to rock throwin trucks or continue speeding when u can HEaR sand or crap blowing off the road. Simply let off the throttle and give u some room around the cars and trucks.

well,. there it is I never have problems with paints by just playing it " cool "

lol

Good, sound advice. Or be wreckless like me, accelerate to 100 (hey, that's only 10 mph faster than traffic) and pass him. Of course, I'm exhaggerating a tad, but I usually just pass them as soon as possible.

Maybe if you'd been paying a bit more attention while skimming over the paint chip threads, you'd realize what people were actually saying about the paint. I myself take offense to your comments because I have a good driving record, do not tail gate or drive recklessly, have never been in or caused an accident, nor have I ever owned a car that has ever been proned to chipping like the tC (and I have owned 4 cars).

Making an educated guess I'd say that it has something to do with a cheap application or thin clearcoating on some of the tC's colors (silver streak mica, black cherry pearl) as these seem to be the main colors having this issue. Next time please think before you post.

Not all of us are idiotic drivers, even if we are young. There just happens to be an issue with the paint on some of the cars- and no offense but if you want to make smart ___ remarks, I suggest you do a slight amount of research before trying to follow through.

hahaha, your screen name is "Smash".

Haven't had the tC long enough to see how thin the paint is, but sometime's "not tailgaiting construction vehicles" isn't good enough. just before getting the tC I was in the company van driving on the LIE (only expressway on Long Island for trucks) and started hearing the tap-tap of something hitting the front of the (very old and crappy) van. No trucks in sight. 5-10 miles down the road I finallycome upon a gravel truck leaking gravel out the back. Basically it was spraying enough crap all over the road that it was still getting kicked up long after the truck had gone. You just have to accept that things are going to happen to a vehicle over time...

Over time my ___. Maybe a few years or so.. but not 2 months. I don't give a ____ anymore, I'm flaming mad that my paint is chipping like it is.. I'm just waiting on the Scion Regional rep to inspect my car the first week of November so that they can pay to fix it. If they want to make it cheap, they need to be prepared to correct it.

i've been saying this already, tC has a bad paint job. witness my own tC and friends (white tC)

paint chip, tiny rust spots, and last week someone keyed my car! on the the drivers side door. now i have a foot long line comin across, you can see from 5 feet away.

anyone can show me where i can buy touch up paint and that special clear wax that protects the paint? makes your car more slick and smooth so when pebbles land, it'll slide across without a scratch. i think that special clear wax protects your car from being keyed....

anyone wanna send links? thanks!

I use this stuff called ProtectAll. It makes the car silky smooth, and it lasts. Its very easy to apply. www.protectall.com

I have an Indigo Ink tC and have driven about 400miles on the highway so far (only have had it a week) and I've noticed one tiny chip on the bumper. I plan on getting the clearbra for the bumber though.

I'm at 3500 miles and the front end of my car is starting to look like a pincusion with black spots everywhere from chips. Then again, I go through 3 construction zones on the way to work every morning and every afternoon.

Your dealer should have touch up paint from the paint department. it's probably pretty pricey ($10 for a small "marker" style pen, I think I heard) but it should do it.

I was quoted $309 for clearbra install on just the front bumper. Another $250 for the hood, fenders, and mirrors. I don't think I'll be getting it. I'll just stick to touch up paint :D.

Although... I was at the dealer today and the parts guy told me that the touchup paint for the Indigo Ink tC was not even in the computer yet and he didn't know when he'd be able to get some in. Haven't really tried looking elsewhere, I figured if it wasn't avaliable in the toyota parts computer, it wasn't avaliable at all... :/

try your dealer for touchup. Got a tube of it for about $10.

Although I should warn: the paint looks like crap, when you use it, you can see its a different paint quite easily. And shake up that paint as much as possible before you use it...

you know they got those wide view mirrors from Broadway and RAZO. They even got convex ones with a blue tint. They help a butt load, had one on my civic and I could see clearly from shoulder to shoulder on it.
