Default From MKIV Jetta to Scion tC (pics)

Well, my Jetta was nice, but I already like the tC better it seems.

The Jetta Right before I sold it. A custom 2.0 Turbo.

The tC in the dealership parking lot, waiting for me to register it.

I really havent gotten to drive the tC long distances so I cannot do a good comparison yet, but there are little obvious things that I notice already.

Stock for stock the tC beats the Jetta hands down. It took me soooo much time and $$ to get teh Jetta to where I wanted it...

$2,600 for rims + tires
$1,200 for body kit
(at least) $5,000 in engine work
$1000 in car audio

and the sick thing is I was willing to PAY to get a tC from this Jetta I liked the tC so much in comparison.

Your Jetta was really sweet. Which turbo kit where you running? man,you had some nice mods on the Jetta.I know you invested some time/cash on it.

As a VW owner myself,I can't blame you for getting the TC. I am really reconsidering my purchase with my Golf, but I am still pretty happy with it.. it's my 5th VW,prob my last ;)I feel you also,I prob spent a extra $3500 already to get my Golf where I like it,on top of buying the car.

Best of luck with yout TC,very good buy!

I also moved from a Jetta to a tC...1996 mk III 2.0 w/ 145k miles I had lot's of time and money in the Jetta as well - but after 8 years I just wanted something else (something with electric windows and remote door locks). However, I do miss the Jetta at times...especially the Shine suspension!

Out of the box the tC is much mo' better...Oddly enough the tC was only $300 more now than the Jetta was when I bought it new 8 years ago.

Congrats on the tC.

Well right before I sold it I was running 180 at the wheels. I was in a little bit of a rut with money at the time, I was in the process of moving to florida and I really needed the money so I sold the Jetta. Luckily I found a great job over the summer and caught myself back up to the point where I could make a downpayment on the tC.
