Default BORLA WARNING!!!

Borla's web site is incorrect. Their single exhaust (part # 11741) is NOT a cat back. This incorrect information has also been sent out to their distributors and web retailers. I went on a 2 hour round trip in traffic to pick mine up today and when I got home and popped open the box the instructions read: "Thanks for purchasing a Borla Performance REAR SECTION Exhaust" Guess what? It was a rear section despite what their web site and the retailer's site indicated. I called Borla earlier this week and the guy I talked to for about ten minutes about the difference between the dual and single continually referred to the single as a cat back. Anyway, I just though I'd pass this on and save others the pain in the ___ of thinking they were getting great deal on a cat back and then finding out otherwise. I realize that this is a new part and that all this was due to a typo on the Borla inventory database, but its a hassel nonetheless. Borla has indicated that their web site will be changed by tomorrow mourning, but I'm assuming this incorrect info could be on retailer web sites for a while.

Quick questions. How big is the tip? Also if you do install it take pics. It sucks though that it's not a cat back, sorry to hear that.

The tip is oval shaped and is 3.5" high and 4" wide. I haven't decided if I'm going to send it back yet. I got a good deal on it (despite it being a rear section) at $252. Anyways, its either staying with this or going with the MagnaFlow. The place I got my Borla said they could get the MagnaFlow, but didn't have a price for me yet. What's a good deal on the cat back?

OK, on my Borla 2004 catalog it says exactly, "Borla Dual Exhaust Set-up Part#11741" Thats all it says and I posted that on my website. WHew I am safe. But I am sorry to hear that you got something wrong. My price is 300.00 plus tax and shipping.

Part 11741 is not a dual. It is a single and an axle back.

I just called the correct # for a borla dual exhaust is #140092... and THEY retail it for around $650. I was told to look somewhere else and I'll find it cheaper.

A cat-back replaces the pipe from the catalitic converter all the wayto the back where it comes out with BIGGER pipe, which helps the engine push out the exhaust easier. That way your engine can breathe easier and you can go faster!

Glad we got this info on the Borla not-cat-back. I was just about to order one because the price was so cheap. NOw we know why....
