what kind of problem can be caused by slamming on your brakes with a brand new tc. i did it the other day and then i had read the manual and just curious what problems that might cause.

well you could warp your rotors... in which case you will feel your steering wheel vibrate (epecially when braking), but chances are that you did no harm.

Yea its probably nothing. Just get into the habbit of long-braking.

Once you break in your brakes (seating the pads to the rotors) you are fine. Its just with the brand new equipment it is easier to screw them up.

If he stomped on the brakes, shouldn't the ABS have kicked
in and pumped him to a stop? If so, then I imagine it to be
difficult to warp rotors and glaze pads.

you can glaze pads if you constantly ride the brake hard, this will heat up the brakes badly, causing them to warp...thats ok, it'll give you a reason to buy some performance pads and crossed drilled vented rotors

wouldn't hurt really anything except maybe warp the rotors or put a glaze to the,m that may make periodic noise but functionally it should hurt nothing.

Only if he braked hard enough to lose traction

usually it's about 250-300 miles of (braking miles) which could translate into 1000 miles driven..

EDIT: I will say that stoptech's approach to breaking in.. did work, I was easy on the brakes for 1000 miles, then began to develop a squeal.. I tried stoptech's way and no more problems.. Guess being too easy on brakes can actually be a bad thing just like too hard on the brakes too..

It is true that you can't just use the brakes too easily. The main point of the bed in is to warm up the pads and transfer the material over to the rotor, so you may not need 10 decelerations. You may only need 6 or 7 for a stock system. The more aggressive street pads need to be driven aggressively to stay bedded in.

As for open positions, drop on by and fill out an app. We may have something for you.
