Default Brought my car in for wind deflector recall and...

They said my car was not eligible for the repair. I bought my 2006 tC in August. I guess they were fixing it in the factory before the recall became public. The only thing that I am upset about is the fact I will not be getting the cool toy! boo hoo. Oh well. Has anyone else found this out when they brought in their tc? Or should I try another dealer?

If you didn't get a notice in the mail by now that it needs to be done, yours is already done. And no, you do not get the cool toy. But you can probably get one on eBay for like $60.

Won't matter if he uses another notice... they'd still look up his VIN anyways.

The non-special edition Jada tC should be out in stores in the next month or two. You could always wait till then and pick up one of those.

Ya... but then it's "not" the special edition. It's just a plain "everyone has one of these too" edition.

My g/f and I are each waiting on the good one. We both had ours done. We're probably gonna lock one up somewhere to hold on to it. We'll probably pick up a couple of the "everyone" ones as well.

ya I guess I have to wait and get the non special edition of the toy. Damn and I was looking forward to having that. Guess it is the diadvantage in getting a 2006 tC. Thanks

Some of the 2006 do qualify. That's what my g/f has and she had to get it done. Just depends on when you got it. Her's was off the lot in July last year just as they started showing up.

Trust me, we check the VINs. And no '06 tC's need the recall, its done before the vehicles get delivered to the dealer.

No special toy for you! Or me for that matter

See my post above. The g/f definitely has an 06 and got the notice and got it done.

I am gonna keep my "recall" tC in the box. Then, I will probably get a couple of the normal Jada tCs. My plan is to repaint and "mod" the normal Jada toy to look like my Release Series car. That way, at shows, I can have my car with an identical "Mini-Me" car.

^^ That's awesome. I know someone in NRG that did that with his RS1 box. Made a little mini RS1 with the same graphics and everything. It was pretty hot.

At car shows, I see guys that do that all the time with their old Camaros and Chevelles and such.

That's where I got the idea from.

I got my recall in I believe...November. This is an 06' and they did it without any questions asked. Since I took ownership of the vehicle on July 7th 05 then maybe it was one of the few that got by with out it. Who knows.

Gotta hoist the old BS flag on this one... I drive an 06, recieved the service notice about 6 weeks ago, and watched the dealer perform the service about 3 weeks ago.
Of course, I took delivery back in early June, so it was one of the first 06s in the region, but it is still an 06, and still needed the service.

I was told today that the recall affected only pre-July '06 and '05 models.. Since I got mine in October '06 it didn't qualify for the fix.
