The 15 degree is more for a home A/C. I’m not exactly sure of the change on an auto A/C but I seriously doubt you will get a 40 degree change, it’s not that efficient. I may be wrong but I just don’t see it happening.

pay attention to what he said. he didn't say that it would change the temp. 40 degrees, he said it should output air at around 40 degrees.
I actually checked my yesterday; I am getting about a 34 degree change in the air. I didn’t think it would change that much. Oh well you learn something new everyday.

yeah i have to admit our AC system is fieble....i isnt adequet enough beyond like 80-85 degrees I want to say. When it it 90 degress and above forget about it it just sucks especially w/multiple passengers in the car....i constantly have heard from my mom, dad, gf that it was hot in the car even w/the AC level completely on cold and high and recirculating.....it does take too long to cool things down i think...

and what makes me mad is that i took it in on Wednesday and they checked my levels of freon and the out put level and said everything was fine and that there werent any leaks...and tell me why the guy had the nerve to be like dont forget it wont get cold if you have the sunroof open i looked at him appauled...I was like DERRR I dont keep the windows open when the ac is on...____ gas is too expensive to be wasting AC like that....

Maybe someone should write up a DIY on installing a window AC in the hatch door

I dont remember seeing any fans for the backseat. Are there any? When I have passengers in the rear seat, they complain that its too hot even when I'M in the front seat freezing.

Do you mean like vents for the back? No there aren't any, and I agree people in the back complain a lot, and its understandable the air doesn't really get to them.

At least it's my car so I'm always in the front where the AC is

just tell them the reason they have to sit in the back is because they whine too damn much! (and then open your windows and sunroof the whole way so the wind noise drowns out their incessant b**ching!)

Yea I know what you mean about the humidity! It really sucks around here. I haven’t noticed my AC being that bad but I get to work at 6:30 in the morning and usually don’t leave till about 7:00 in the evening so I haven’t done a lot of driving in the heat of the day.

problem is though (I think) that if you add too much the system will end up being overpressurized which would end up ineffective cooling and I would think would create quite a few problems

I'm in N.O. too...

One of the big problems the tC has is that huge expanse of dark colored dash that gets super hot and stays hot when driving around. If you can find a dash carpet light colored for it it will help a lot. I just toss a white towl over it when I have the car parked in the sun for a long time and it helps considerably.

Also, as I've said before, tinting the moonroof is a must in southern heat.

i find that on really hot days, using the a/c with the recirculate button is ok.
when i drive on the highway, i will turn off the recirc because it seems that the a/c without the recirc will run a little cooler on the highway compaired to city driving. plus i don't like stale air.

too bad i bought my tc last year in february...so i didn't have a really good test of the a/c at that time.

I also noticed that the vents are a little restricted, but overall i think it just needs to be topped off not overfilled but carefully done by a A/C tech.

I know what you mean about teh dash, thats why i cant wait to tint all windows 20%front 35%windshield 5%rear. (that back hatch is _____ at letting heat in)
