Default CAI and Strut Bar question

Hey guys...

I had a couple of questions about CAIs:
1) Does it really improve gas mileage? I saw that K&N had this gas calculator...
2) How long does it last for? The life of the car?
3) Do you need to perodically change anything on the CAI? (Ex: LIke for a car, its the oil filter and etc)
4) How loud is it and is there any clips online?
5) Which is the best company in terms of quietness, hp-gain, reliability, and etc for a TC.

Also for a strut bar:
1) Does it make for a harsher ride? Ex: With the sway bar corning is better but for daily driving in the city with pot holes it makes for a harsher ride...

Any information would be great!!!

1) it does a little, but with an exhaust too you will notice it if you dont step on it so much...
2. life of car for the intake itself, the filter is like any other filter.
3. filter
4. does make a more throaty sound, search youll find sound clips
5. ingen, but its my and many others' opinion.

1. strut bars are worthless on our cars I would though get a sway bar, which goes on the rear suspension that helps. does not effect the ride only the how well it turns and handles.

and lastly search damn it all of these questions could be answered with some searching. use the search button or just click around it takes longer but you won't get flamed.

i think bigmurr just about answered it all for you. most ppl on SL get the injen or TRD/AEM (more get the injen). with a CAI setup there is the possibility of hydrolocking, but it's minimal, but some ppl install a bypass anyway. filter should last for a while and you can buy filter rechargers for fairly cheap. and yes, strut bars are pretty much worthless but work well to make the engine bay look nicer. go with a sway bar
