Calling Triple A Insurance Customers....
have a quick question for you people.
When u went to sign ur ride up with them did u have to pay a down payment?
I was quoted 1600 a year for my tC so the payments have a monthly average of 127.
My first month payment is 167 + 60 for a membership fee which is cool, but he said I have to put down 308 which includes membership fees? Did anyone have to do this?
TIA.

Holy crap, thats cheap. God damn that ____es me off. I pay so much for insurance and I've since I started. I FINALLY got my own plan, I'm 25, own a home, have 2 cars, 0 points and they wanted so much more than that.
I said f that, and went to esurance. I paid 6 months up front and I have the xA and tC w/ them, I pay like 160 a month for both cars. not bad. F AAA!!!

I paid upfront for the whole year and I was already a member, but I'm pretty sure that they wanted a down payment similar to that.
For what it's worth, I have had nothing but good experices with them. (knock on wood)

Just checking cause my agent is a class A douchebag reminds me of someone playing a sleazy used car salesman. I could go with someone else within the office, but I already talked to him about what I wanted and has all my info. As for the prices I am happy. I am only 23 and this being the first time I am out from under my parents insurance I was expecting to pay a lot more for a 06. He says next year my premium will go down and it will decrease even more over time.
Based on your credit score, AAA may require you to put down as much as 50% of your premium as a down, then pay the rest off in 8 monthly payments.
The agent is correct, your preium will go down year by year provided you don't do anything to compromise that...
To give you an idea of what age and longterm membership can do, my '05 tC is $810 a year to insure-- in Southern California. State Farm wanted well over double that.
