Default Car not starting

Well I had my TC for maybe 2 months now. I went take a drive and it won't start already. I didn't have the lights on or anything, so I know it wasn't that. As anyone else had this problem this early? I mean I've heard of cheap battery's and all but this is pretty quick.

I've had my headlights run for 4 hours with the car off and mine started up fine. Does your car turn over? It could be a lot of other things besides the battery. If you have to get your car towed to the dealer, then call them up and tell the situation.

ive had the same problem with mine.....in the manual it says that if you hear it turning but not starting, its bc the chip in the key isnt communicating with the cpu inside the starter.

it says avoid holding any other key rings up to the chip as that can temporarily cause inteference with that. im hoping thats my problem, and the only reason i believe that it could be, is bc usually after not starting if i take the key out or just let go for a second it starts right away.

not sure but i was wondering the same thing....

Well its completely dead. The only thing I can think of is maybe the cold weather we have had here. I live on campus and I haven't driven the car in about a week.

I think it might be the key, here at Toyota of Escondido, we've been getting alot of reports that the chips inside of the keys are getting disloged/damaged due to normal wear and tear use.

simple test to see if it's the key: before sticking the key in, check to see if the engine immobilizer light is blinking. if it is, stick your key in and see if it still is. If so, its the key.

other simple test: use the other master key or the valet key that came with your car.

if the immobilizer light doesnt blink at all, sounds like electrical problems...battery would be the problem there.

Let out on the clutch, and then try again, you may not have it completly down all the way... i've had that happen to me, i thought that i had it all the way down, but it wasn't... :?

If it's completely dead, check the battery terminals and the battery. Even if the chip in the key isn't there, it'll still crank over and over, it just won't catch and physically start, it won't be completely dead.

Do your dash lights and all that come on? If not, my money's on a bad battery or loose terminal.
